Trieste Publishing has a massive catalogue of classic book titles. Our aim is to provide readers with the highest quality reproductions of fiction and non-fiction literature that has stood the test of time. The many thousands of books in our collection have been sourced from libraries and private collections around the world. The titles that Trieste Publishing has chosen to be part of the collection have been scanned to simulate the original. Our readers see the books the same way that their first readers did decades or a hundred or more years ago. Books from that period are often spoiled by imperfections that did not exist in the original. Imperfections could be in the form of blurred text, photographs, or missing pages. It is highly unlikely that this would occur with one of our books. Our extensive quality control ensures that the readers of Trieste Publishing's books will be delighted with their purchase. Our staff has thoroughly reviewed every page of all the books in the collection, repairing, or if necessary, rejecting titles that are not of the highest quality. This process ensures that the reader of one of Trieste Publishing's titles receives a volume that faithfully reproduces the original, and to the maximum degree possible, gives them the experience of owning the original work.We pride ourselves on not only creating a pathway to an extensive reservoir of books of the finest quality, but also providing value to every one of our readers. The largest importer of precious stones in America, Gustave Schultze, sent Mr. Latham a parcel in the mail that was addressed to him. There were thirty to forty letters inside a basic, cigarette-box-sized bundle that was wrapped in yellow paper. At half past seven the night before, the item was mailed at the Madison Square substation. The following morning's mail brought nothing, and Mr. Latham frantically searched through his afternoon mail in the same manner. Red Haney's diamond case and the jewels, which were widely publicized in Sunday morning newspapers, instantly sparked a circular parade as Haney, the goal center, slept off sweetly in a drunken stupor. When Mulberry Street's cops are confronted with an issue other than a common, minor theft, burglary, or murder, as the case may be, they frequently get up and circle about. The little thread of life inside Doris nearly broke as she gazed down in vast, dry-eyed terror at the body of this aged, shriveled man whom she had loved. He suddenly kissed both of her outstretched hands after she extended them. The excruciating fear that had driven her here was temporarily ignored in favor of the indescribable delight of seeing him once more.
Jakob Mieses was born in 1865 in Leipzig, Germany. He enjoyed a long lasting professional chess career of 64 years. Mieses played in numerous tournaments throughout his life, and was known and studied as having a very aggressive, and at the same time, rather traditional playing style. He lived in Germany until the rise of Nazism; as he was Jewish he fled Germany after Kristallnacht, even though he was elderly and had only a little bit of money in his pocket. He went on to become a UK citizen, and is credited as bring the first British grandmaster. Mieses' wit and sharpness continued to the end of his life and were credited to his dedication to physical fitness and his fondness of swimming. He remained active in England until dying just a few days shy of his 89th birthday. He continued to play regularly, and always kept a keen sense of humor. For example, at the age of 84, after defeating an 86-year-old, fellow chess master Van Foreest, Mieses famously stated, "Youth has been victorious."
The fourth volume in the Greenwood series providing a near-definitive survey on the output of sound recordings made in Europe by The Gramophone Company (1900-1929), this work covers the Dutch area and includes a good deal of Belgian material as well. Included in the contents are examples of the work from serious artists in classical music together with popular and comic songs and social comment dealing with an era that has nearly passed out of the range of living memory. Of interest to record collectors, music archivists, reference librarians, and music and social historians. The Gramophone Company was the major producer of sound recordings from 1900 to 1929, besides having a virtual monopoly of the major talents. It was organized into ten geographical/ethnic divisions. Four of these areas have had discographies published on them; Kelly's previous Greenwood volumes cover Italy, France, and Germany. The fourth, on Scandinavia, was published by another company.
Dr Mabuse master of mystery: A novel enhances an atmosphere of psychological domination and societal decay through its portrayal of a manipulative figure whose reach transcends individual crimes. It examines how a single mind can exploit institutional weakness and human vulnerability, turning rational society into a stage for chaos. The narrative magnifies the anxieties of a post-war nation, where disillusionment and instability create fertile ground for the rise of criminal intellect masked by shifting identities. Through the unraveling of illusion and the breakdown of trust, it explores the erosion of reason in the face of charisma and calculated deceit. The story interrogates power without accountability, questioning the limits of justice when confronted by a figure who anticipates every move and inhabits multiple personas. It investigates not just external crimes but internal disintegration where ambition, moral ambiguity, and fear allow control to pass from law to manipulation. As the machinery of law attempts to counter invisible forces, the novel presents a confrontation between order and an intelligence that thrives on disorder and disguise.
In today's competitive world, the need to perform has never been greater. Yet, we all - adults and children alike - often are quite effective at mentally sabotaging our own performance It's not that we intend to, it's just that we don't really understand how our mindset actually affects our ability to perform. As a result, we systematically continue to make the same mistakes and our performance suffers. As adults, the unfortunate truth is that we sometimes are the agents responsible for triggering the mental sabotage of children that we are charged to support. We mean to help but in fact, our words and actions damage the mindset that allows them to deliver their best performance. Helping Kids Perform will help you to better understand the mental skills side of the performance equation and show you how you can communicate these principles to your children. It offers a framework that will clarify how the way that we think really influences how we perform, and how mindset can affect health as well. This book examines issues of self-confidence; self-esteem; coping with stress; using imagery to shape performance; controlling focus; and more. The simple tools and proven strategies offered represent a roadmap for the development of a set of life skills that will empower you and your children to take control of the mental "noise" that has such a powerful influence on our emotions, our behaviors, and our ability to perform.
