The Happiness of the Saints in a Separate State. A Sermon Preached at Hitchin, in Herts, Aug.27, 1773, at the Funeral of ... Mr. Samuel James, ... By Benjamin Wallin,
The 18th century was a wealth of knowledge, exploration and rapidly growing technology and expanding record-keeping made possible by advances in the printing press. In its determination to preserve the century of revolution, Gale initiated a revolution of its own: digitization of epic proportions to preserve these invaluable works in the largest archive of its kind. Now for the first time these high-quality digital copies of original 18th century manuscripts are available in print, making them highly accessible to libraries, undergraduate students, and independent scholars. The Age of Enlightenment profoundly enriched religious and philosophical understanding and continues to influence present-day thinking. Works collected here include masterpieces by David Hume, Immanuel Kant, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau, as well as religious sermons and moral debates on the issues of the day, such as the slave trade. The Age of Reason saw conflict between Protestantism and Catholicism transformed into one between faith and logic -- a debate that continues in the twenty-first century.++++The below data was compiled from various identification fields in the bibliographic record of this title. 'One hell of a fine book' Conn IgguldenIN AN AGE OF CLASHING EMPIRES, DARK FORCES FROM THE EAST ENDANGER THE FIRST LIGHT OF THE WESTERN RENAISSANCE...It is an age of ruthless rulers, divided churches, fractured dynasties and intrepid traders. It is an age of great cities like Venice and Constantinople; an age of conquerors like Tamerlane who will drown the world in blood; an age when only a hero of exceptional gifts can make a difference. Luke Magoris is that hero. A hero who will find himself committed to a long journey to discover - and try to avoid - his destiny. He will travel from battle to trading fortune, from horse dealing to captivity, and to the love of three very different women and the unrelenting enmity of two remarkable men.

There are few situations in the life of a church that are more disruptive or destructive than the presence of sin in the life of its membership, especially the leadership. Too often we see the presence of sin as a fatal situation. Yet sin, properly dealt with, rather than destroying the church or those involved, may become a catalyst for growth--both for the church body and those involved in whatever sin is present. Christ and the apostle Paul laid out instructions for taking the presence of sin, challenging those involved and restoring their walk with Christ. Therefore, we must, if we consider ourselves as a spiritual people, resolve to restore those impacted by sin and see them resume their walk with Christ (Gal 6:1).
