Growing up can be murder In 1978 what 15-year-old Jodie came to describe as 'The Trauma' changed her world. In the days and weeks that followed she craved the once so boring life that she had previously despised. But those moments were now gone forever. What lingered were the images of her mother pleading with her to run. Those images of a blood-spattered face seared into her brain and replayed in her nightmares every night. What came next? In the small Tasmanian town in which Jodie lived she quickly became a pariah as the locals shared their suspicions that she was her mother's murderer. A total stranger called Charlie Wise turned up at her grandparents' house. Jodie discovered that he was her father who had left many years ago. To her disgust she was informed that she must leave and move to the wilds of the Tasmanian Midlands to live on a sprawling sheep property. When she returns to the village after three years the residents are no longer as hostile but not welcoming. She reunites with Will her childhood friend. And the mystery of who killed her mother? Jodie's return triggers events. The murderer is revealed.

Various awakenings manifest themselves as Gen. Ygl of the Lorel Elves and the Party of the Jode battle evil forces trying to undermine continental Zaendara's peace. Some awakenings are mental flashbacks (memorials) forcing the afflicted to question their threatened existence and themselves. And so, the Party is created in hopes to retrieve the elusive Jode that will stop Xurchon and Emperor Rondo's deranged plans and hopefully answer these reckonings, adding two unlikely members. However, the most understated awakening is Ygl's sexual identity he privately struggles with after his wife's death. His struggle almost becomes a spiritual awakening as he attempts to control his jodepiece while battling Xurchon, the God of Evil. Part of Rondo and Xurchon's plan is to retrieve Ygl's broadsword, Demonslayer (aka Welbern). And so, the successful Death Mist is sent to retrieve it and conquer more Zaendaran estates. Twists and turns surprise the struggling Jode Seekers as more truths and mysteries are revealed. And, war looms... from the Giants' scented plantations to the Ogres' stony empire. Will they rise above their revelations or drown in the deluge?
When musician Marcus Lewis buys the derelict farmhouse next to Jodie' Eriksson's riding school he doesn't know whether to be amused or irritated by her angry reaction to his plans. Then her sister Izzie visits him and makes things a whole lot worse...or is it better...because now he has an excuse to see Jodie again. Although, when he sees her, it's not exactly a meeting of minds, they do discover they have one thing in common; they both believe they know what's best for Izzie, and for Marcus' son Luke. It turns out they're wrong. The children they thought they were protecting need to be set free. It's Jodie and Marcus who have the problem; but can two broken hearts make one whole one? The battle lines that were set when they first met have long since been breached but the war won't be over until Jodie learns how to trust again, and until Marcus allows himself to believe in his son.
This book is dedicated to the memory of her and all proceeds from the book will be going to the Sophie Lancaster foundation. The book consists of a number of poems and a story called 'Understanding Jodie' I hope you enjoy them and spread the word about my work and because which is to treat everybody as an individual and respect their beliefs and feelings, help the weak ones and provide for those who cannot provide for themselves.
