Quality Uncertainty and Perception

Quality Uncertainty and Perception

It has been observed that the studies of quality are pursued in various disciplines like economics, quality management, and marketing science, and are seen isolated. The treatments imparted to these studies are also different and has the backdrop of discipline in which the work has been pursued. The nature of isolation is equally seen when quality uncertainty and perceived quality were pursued separately without showing any inkling that these can be complimentary. Economist and Nobel Laureate, Akerlof (1970), wrote a seminal piece “The market for lemons: quality uncertainty and market mechanism”, where he described quality uncertainty due to information asymmetry. It refers to the fact that a party in a transaction may have more information than the other. This is information asymmetry. If the seller has more information than the buyer about the product quality, he/she may sell it, as if it is a high-quality product. In reality, it could be a low-quality product. The buyer does not have the information regarding the quality of the offered product. The market condition that led to this transaction is quality uncertainty due to information asymmetry.

Pregnancy is a unique time in a woman's life, accompanied by a variety of physiologic, anatomic and hormonal changes that can affect how oral health care is provided.Maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including optimal oral health, is essential for women who are currently pregnant or who may become pregnant. The most critical periods of fetal development occur in the earliest weeks following conception, before many women even know they are pregnant. Pregnancy and early childhood are particularly important times to access oral health care because the consequences of poor oral health can have a lifelong impact. This book covers almost every aspect of oral health care necessary during pregnancy and in infancy.

The prevalence and impact of Diabetes Mellitus have been steadily rising, making it a global health challenge. Conventional treatments, while effective, have their limitations. Despite the growing interest in using plant-based secondary metabolites for diabetes management, there is a need for comprehensive research and knowledge in this field. This edited book aims to address this gap by compiling cutting-edge research and insights from experts in the field. Diabetes Mellitus affects millions of people globally and poses significant health and economic burdens. The main objective of this book is to compile state-of-the-art research and insights on plants and their secondary metabolites as potential therapeutic options for diabetes mellitus. By bringing together contributions from leading experts in the field, this book aims to provide a comprehensive resource for researchers, healthcare professionals, and individuals interested in the topic.

The present study dealt with the evaluation of anti-influenza activity of metanolic extract of Tylophora indica (Burm. f.) Merr by wet and dry method .In vitro wet lab experiments shown promising results for methanolic extract of Tylophora indica. The physico-chemical analysis and HPTLC analysis were performed to determine the active principle of the extract. In silico studies was performed with the objective to identify the medicinal properties of important phyto compounds in Tylophora indica (Burm. f.) Merr by ADME/T and molecular docking. Four phytochemicals out of twenty compounds showed binding affinity more than Oseltamivir whereas only Tyloindicine G and Tyloindicine H showed binding affinity more than Zanamivir. It was seen that Tyloindicine H has Acute oral toxicity of class II which is not fit for oral consumption. To validate the obtained results of wet lab for anti-influenza activity of T. indica, in silico analysis was performed successfully. From the comparative docking analysis it can be said that Tyloindicine G can be used as phytochemical drug against Influenza Strain A H3N2 in preliminary analysis. Further, there is a requirement of in vivo animal study .
