Aleksanteri I:n sarkofagi avattiin keisari Aleksanterin II:n aikana 1866 ja bolsevikkien aikana 1921. Hauta oli tyhjä. Syntyi huhu, että Aleksanteri I olisi ottanut käyttöönsä salanimen Fjodor Kuzmits ja elänyt sitten Tomskin alueella Siperiassa kuolemaansa, vuoteen 1864 asti.Sveitsiläisen H.-L.
