Ethan had grown up with his Nanna Rose. She had told him of stories that were fantastically impossible, and yet something rung true. "...And then the Romany Gypsies filed from there caravans Ethan. They came in the thousands. At the raising of Merlin's staff, they were signalled to change. They became the human - catlike cross breed." Said Nanna Rose Take a journey with a young man, who was oblivious to the truth. The truth; that werewolves are real, and so are those protect us, from them.

Here Professor Hengel argues with a wealth of documentation that the traditional views of the origin and content of the Gospel of Mark have far more to be said for them than has been usually allowed by modern New Testament scholars. He argues that the tradition contained in the Gospel is that handed down by Peter through Mark, and that the Gospel was written in Rome in AD 69. The famous note by Papias quoted in Eusebius' Church History is not to be dismissed, but has every appearance of being reliable. Further evidence in support of this view can be found in a detailed consideration of the titles of the Gospels, which must have been attached to the Gospels at a very early stage, if only to identify them. An appendix, by the distinguished classical philologist Wolfgang Schadewaldt, on 'The Reliability of the Synoptic Tradition', is used to add further weight to the case. With his customary learning, Professor Hengel has produced a powerful argument which those who have held more radical views than his own will have to consider very carefully indeed if they are to continue to carry conviction. Martin Hengel was Professor of New Testament and Early Judaism in the University of Tubingen.

European Trade Mark Law provides a coherent and authoritative commentary on both the substantive and procedural aspects of European trade mark law. It presents an integrated picture of the two major trade mark law provisions at EU level: the Community Trade Mark Regulation (CMTR), which provides for the registration and protection of a Europe-wide mark; and the Trade Mark Directive (TMD), which aims to harmonise national trade mark laws. The book's core focus is the Community texts and case law, and it offers a detailed analysis of the CMTD and TMD, as well as practical discussion of the procedure for registering, maintaining, and challenging a trade mark through the European Trade Mark Office and at the national level. It considers how national laws have been successfully harmonised by the TMD, and where they differ significantly from others in their implementation of the Directive. Written by one of the leading trade mark lawyers in Europe, this is an invaluable reference for both academics and practitioners in this complex and rapidly developing area of law.
What was the Mark of Cain?: Studies in Genesis Series - Volume One
What was the Mark of Cain? Scholars and lay people alike have been asking this question for centuries. In this new book, Samuel Martin proposes a new idea to help answer this age-old question. This new book stresses the following points in seeking to identify what was the Mark of Cain: The fact that it is essential to understand that the Mark of Cain was not something external to Cain personallyThe early narratives in Genesis cannot be understood properly without an appreciation of the fact that these narratives have very strong symbolic teachings associated with them relating to the Holy TempleSolid comparative studies of the specific texts in Genesis relating to this story with other Biblical passages will pay great dividends in helping to understand what the Mark of Cain wasThe early geography of Genesis helps us to better understand what the Mark of Cain wasIn this book, we propose a number of interesting and thought provoking suggestions about Cain and Abel age's at the time when Abel diedAn alternate proposal concerning the Biblical translation of the "Land of Nod."The importance of the concept of separation and its significance in helping to identify the Mark of Cain Features of this volumeEasy to read writing styleIn depth examination of this issueA strong reliance on developing a greater understanding of the Hebrew text of Genesis with a specific focus on ancient Hebrew scholarship concerning this subjectA strong focus on developing biblical themes and types to help explain questions from the Biblical texts which might not be so clear on the surfaceA deep reverence for the Holy Scriptures

Brunilde Sismondo Ridgway, one of the world s leading experts on classical sculpture, turns her attention in this volume to the fourth century, a period of transition from the classical Athenian style to an array of styles found simultaneously in the Hellenistic diaspora. Though a period very rich in important monuments, the fourth century has been particularly challenging and vexing to scholars, and Ridgway s is the first comprehensive study of this sculpture in sixty years. Ridgway s careful summaries of ongoing scholarly debates illustrate how the fourth century fits into the development of Greek sculpture and architecture. Discussing figural sculpture, votive and document reliefs, funerary art, and architectural sculpture from Greece proper to the non-Greek territories of Lykia and Karia in the Anatolian peninsula, she looks at major monuments and categories of monuments, describing each work carefully, puts into perspective problems surrounding interpretation and dating of the sculpture, reviews and evaluates previous scholarship on the subject, and offers her own views. Ridgway pays particular attention to Greek originals, but also provides valuable chapters on Roman copies, one of the most difficult but critical areas for understanding Greek sculpture. Taking a skeptical stance, Ridgway revisits scholarly attempts to attribute sculptural work to the famous masters of the fourth century: Praxiteles, Skopas, and Lysippos. She undertakes a factual analysis of the extant evidence for and against various attributions, bolstered by a critical reading of ancient literary sources. "

This book provides a comprehensive, systematic theory of moral responsibility. The authors explore the conditions under which individuals are morally responsible for actions, omissions, consequences, and emotions. The leading idea in the book is that moral responsibility is based on ‘guidance control’. This control has two components: the mechanism that issues in the relevant behavior must be the agent’s own mechanism, and it must be appropriately responsive to reasons. The book develops an account of both components. The authors go on to offer a sustained defense of the thesis that moral responsibility is compatible with causal determinism.
