Throughout life, all the body's organs disintegrate and lose their capacity to play out their capacities ideally, particularly the mind. For this reason, many people are adopting habits to stay in shape and prevent their quality of life from deteriorating in the long term. However, few pay enough attention to their mental health. And it is usually one of the most affected in old age. If not trained, it can lead to several mental problems, memory loss, or difficulty sleeping.Good habits in youth and maturity are one of the keys to generating resistance to neurodegenerative diseases. But being aware of the importance of all this in the long term is not our strength.Bad habits in middle age can have serious repercussions decades later, generating cerebrovascular problems or increasing the risk of dementia. The brain is everything. We are our brains. When our brain fails, it is called brain death. The scientific community has accepted that when the brain stops working irreversibly, the subject has died. It is the fundamental part that makes us human beings or independent individuals, and therefore, it is essential to take care of it.In our genome, we have programmed a series of functions for the activities or events around us. But evolution invented a system that was adaptable to the circumstances that exist. If a predator appears, the subject was able to recognize it and flee or hunt it down. It is an evolutionary invention. The nervous system has managed to reach the civilization of the human being. You can have a great brain and cognitive function despite the passage of time. It is possible, thanks to the adoption of good habits. To make your brain work, you have to know it well. When you know how it works, you will develop activities to keep your brain in shape. Also, it is a process that involves concentration, self-learning, etc.It is all that you are going to see in this book. Take a little time to read it. In this book, you will discover a secret about how to train your brain, which is like any other body part, to get it in shape.

Brain Awakes: Empowering Children Through Breath, Balance, and Reflection
Showing our children how to recognize and regulate their emotions is a crucial piece ofsuccessful parenting and teaching. As young educators, we never imagined the time requiredto develop social-emotional skills in their students. These abilities are "recognized, valued, andsupported by ever-expanding research as an important contributor to behavioral improvements, academic achievement, and overall factors of long-term success," but how can educatorsand parents find the time in their overloaded schedules to teach self-awareness, empathy, and optimism? The purpose of Brain Awakes is to provide a practical way to equip all childrenwith these life skills. With this straightforward guide, you will be able to lead your children using breath, balance, and reflection. The path of the book follows a developmentally appropriate progression, which starts with a child's inner-environment and leads to their relationship with the worldaround them. As they practice the art of metacognition, watch their relationships with themselvesand others flourish.Every activity in Brain Awakes will occupy less than five minutes and provide a muchneeded mental break. The reflection section will serve as a guide for valuable conversationswith your children. Taking the time to collaborate and reflect will generate greater social-emotionalgrowth. Our shared devotion to this journey will yield a needed sense of awareness whileinspiring a more compassionate and connected community--one activity at a time.
Disorders of the Brain - Special Guide to Mental Illnesses
Mental illness confounds a lot of people, and many would assert that such conditions do not exist and that those who suffer from them are to blame. It might be challenging to assess whether a diagnosis is accurate, though, as counselors regularly diagnose individuals with mental disease disorders. A lot of controversy surrounds these conditions as a result of this.Life in general depends on good mental health. The majority of people are able to function normally throughout their lives, yet some appear to constantly be interrupted. We can tell that there is a problem because of these interrupts, which indicate that there is something wrong with these people's brains. To comprehend the disruptions that occur in the brain, we must examine a variety of illnesses and symptoms. Bipolar depression is a good illustration, for instance. In today's society, this is one of the conditions that are most frequently diagnosed. In fact, it's likely that you know someone who suffers from bipolar depression but are unaware of it. Although bipolar disorder is fairly common, many individuals are unaware of its full scope. The Well-Tuned Brain

The Well-Tuned Brain

Peter C. Whybrow

The Well-Tuned Brain is a call to action. Swept along by the cascading advances of today’s technology, most of us take for granted that progress brings improvement. Despite spectacular material advance, however, the evidence grows that we are failing to create a sustainable future for humanity. We are out of tune with the planet that nurtures us. Technology itself is not the problem, as Whybrow explains, but rather our behavior. Throughout its evolution the ancient brain that guides us each day has been focused on short-term survival. But fortunately we are intensely social creatures. Without the caring behaviors that flow from intimate attachments to others, we would be relying on a brain that is only marginally adapted to the complexity of the problems we must now face together. Today we must grapple with survival, not in its immediacy but over the long term. The first step in finding our way forward is to reexamine who we are as creatures of this planet. To this end, Whybrow takes us on a fascinating tour of self-discovery, drawing extensively upon his decades of experience as a psychiatrist and his broad knowledge of neuroscience and human behavior. Illustrated throughout with engaging personal stories, the book’s trove of cutting-edge science is enriched by philosophical, historical, and cultural perspectives. What emerges is a summons to rediscover the essential virtues of earlier nurturing, of mentored education, and an engagement with the natural world through curiosity and imagination. Neuroscience can open the search for a better future. But technology alone will not save us. To achieve success we will need the strength and wisdom of our better nature as humane social beings.
Mind, Brain, and Schizophrenia

Mind, Brain, and Schizophrenia

Peter Williamson

Over the last two decades, molecular genetics and brain imaging have guided efforts to find the causes of schizophrenia. It is becoming increasingly clear that many genes are involved in schizophrenia and that they interact with other factors in very complex ways, which have not yet been elucidated. Neuroimaging techniques have allowed scientists and physicians to examine brain structure, function, and chemistry in living patients with schizophrenia but results so far have been disappointing. No two patients seem to share exactly the same combination of clinical symptoms or physical findings. Yet all have the syndrome recognized as schizophrenia. The author of this accessible, well-written book argues that it is time to set aside the search for a single cause of schizophrenia and focus on the disease's final common pathway. He highlights clues from a wide range of research, including neurotransmitter, psychophysiological, and brain imaging studies. He then describes possibilities for the final common pathway at an understandable level in the context of what is already known about schizophrenia. While there are no preferred models of schizophrenia, a pattern is emerging which implicates those structures in the brain known to be important in integrating perception, cognition, and affect. A better understanding of these processes will be critical for developing mor effective treatments. This book will help advance that effort. It will be of great value to psychiatrists, psychologists, neurologists, neuroimagers, and basic scientists working in the field of shizophrenia research, and to their students and trainees. It will also be of interest to cliniciansand scientists concerned with other neuropsychiatric disorders, and to the families of those diagnosed with schizophrenia.

Memorise Facts Like a Lawyer and Ace That Exam: How to Reprogram Your Brain and Memorise Every Fact
Lawyers have to be able to memorise a lot of facts if they are going to conduct a case in court. How do they do it? This book will show you how one student went from schoolroom failure to confidently passing every exam first time, followed by a successful career as a lawyer. Is exam preparation always a struggle? It was for the author, BUT, he went from dummy to ace. So can you. You really NEED to pass that exam but you're not confident you can remember enough facts to get through? Do you envy other students who seem to be able to remember everything without really trying? Wouldn't it be great if you could be one of those students? What's holding you back? This short, but informative book describes a single, simple technique that the author used to transform himself from a poor student with a rotten memory in high school into the classroom ace at Law School. The step-by-step explanation of the technique will show you how to memorise any coherent set of facts so you can be sure you know the material and can recall it when you need it. A simple but brilliant technique that the author discovered just when he needed it most and which he has refined over the years so he can share it with others. Using this technique the author, who had never done well in any academic exams, became an ace at Law School, passing all the tests and exams easily, and, once he knew about this technique, the change happened almost overnight. It can work for you, too. Improve your recall. Improve your ability to memorise facts so you can recall them at will, in the exam room, in the classroom or in the lecture hall.
