A selection of poetry to warn the non-believer causing them to ask for guidance and salvation through Jesus, the only name by which you must be saved as well as verse to edify and challenge the hearts of those who have made that decision to serve the King of All Nations. I'm one of those people who just can't help myself Even if I have no pen or tablet to write that poem, or draw that picture, my mind continually sets the scene of words or images to be stored away until I can get it onto paper. That's why I usually have writing tools with me wherever I go, even on my bedside table for when my dreams waken me and need to be remembered for another day. Many of my poems are taken from the words in the scriptures as I study or listen to the teaching of the local church Pastor. Most of my life story is rung out into my inspirational poetry giving my praise and attention to the Lord of All the Nations, Jesus Christ. To sing of God's great love for humankind and give warnings to those who may not yet know that grace and love in their lives, many of my poems declare that truth.

The first openly transgender judge to be appointed in the United States, the first attorney to obtain corrected birth certificates for transgender people who had not undergone gender confirmation surgery, a survivor of conversion therapy, and author of a law review article that helped thousands of employers adopt supportive policies for their workers, Phyllis Frye is truly a pioneer in the fight for transgender rights.Among her many accomplishments, Frye founded the first national organization devoted to shaping transgender law—the International Conference on Transgender Law and Employment Policy, which has since created a body of work that includes the International Bill of Gender Rights—trained a cadre of future trans activists, and built the first national movement for transgender legal and political rights.Based on interviews with Frye, Phyllis Frye and the Fight for Transgender Rights covers her early life, the discrimination she faced while struggling with her identity—including being discharged from the army and fired from a subsequent job at her alma mater, Texas A&M—her transition in 1976, her many years of activism, and her current position as an associate judge for the municipal courts of Houston. This gripping account of Frye’s efforts to establish and protect the constitutional rights of transgender individuals not only fills a gap in existing histories of LGBTQ+ activism but will also inform and instruct contemporary trans activists.

During the 1920s and 1930s, Phyl and her partner Don Munday pioneered exploration into the heart of the Coast Mountains.

A showcase of Phyllis Galembo’s extraordinary photographs of the costume, ritual and traditions of masquerade Mexico Phyllis Galembo has travelled all over the globe to sites of ritual masquerade. In Africa, the Caribbean, and now Mexico, she captures cultural performances with a subterranean political edge. Using a direct, unaffected portrait style, Galembo captures her subjects informally posed but often strikingly attired in traditional or ritualistic dress. Attuned to a moment’s collision of past, present and future, Galembo finds the timeless elegance and dignity of her subjects. Masking is a complex, mysterious, and profound tradition in which the participants transcend the physical world and enter the spiritual realm. In her vibrant images, Galembo exposes an ornate code of political, artistic, theatrical, social and religious symbolism and commentary. Galembo highlights the creativity of the individuals morphing into a fantastical representation of themselves, having cobbled together materials gathered from the immediate environment to idealize their vision of mythical figures. While still pronounced in their personal identity, the subject’s intentions are rooted in the larger dynamics of religious, political and cultural affiliation. Establishing these connections is a hallmark of Galembo’s work.

This is a true story of my unhappy childhood. I prayed to the Angels to make me lovable so my mother would stop beating me. I prayed they would send me someone who would love me. My mother died when I was six and I went to live with my Aunt and Uncle. No more beatings. My father remarried. My stepmother was kind but not affectionate- nor was my father. While in high school I met the young man who I knew instantly, was meant to be my husband. His family lovingly welcomed me into their lives. We had a wonderful marriage and the first 18 years of my life no longer mattered. Then my dear, sweet husband got Alzheimer's and now he is gone.
