Desde la eternidad literaria nos dicen: Aqu estuvimos, / reemplazando a los muertos, / y seguiremos / en la carne y la sangre / de los que lleguen .ENGLISH DESCRIPTIONIn Ram n L pez Velarde: La lumbre inm vil --selected and with an epilogue by Marco Antonio Campos--, Jos Emilio Pacheco offers an interpretation of the work of the author of La suave Patria, a unique dissection of his poetic craft. At just thirty-three years old, Ram n L pez Velarde (1888-1921) died of pneumonia after a nighttime walk through the streets of Mexico City. With him, a chapter of Mexican poetry comes to a close, one that found its splendor during the bloody revolutionary years. It is impossible to know whether he will continue to be read in the future. That will be determined by posterity, which is built through readings and re-readings, and through books like Ram n L pez Velarde: The Motionless Flame, in which two poets converse. What do they talk about? Poetry, of course. From literary eternity, they tell us: "Here we were, / replacing the dead, / and we will remain / in the flesh and blood / of those who come."

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION The second volume featuring the novels of one of the most prominent authors of contemporary Spain: Ram n Mar a del Valle-Incl n. Between 1908 and 1910, Valle-Incl n set out to narratively tackle the quintessential epic theme: war, offering a depiction as broad as it was complex of the unfolding of the third and final Carlist War, in which he sought to make 'the voice of an entire people' resonate. Despite the boldness and the achievements of his effort, Valle abandoned the project, dissatisfied with its development. More than fifteen years would pass before his next novel, Tirano Banderas, saw the light of day in 1926-a work in which the writer reached one of the pinnacles of his prodigious art, and, indeed, of twentieth-century fiction as a whole. With it, he inaugurated a rich literary tradition: the 'dictator novel.
