Arkenvale, a small village, and two of its residents - brother and sister duo - Brin and Tia. The siblings as well as the whole village are prepping for the upcoming festival, the most important festival of the country. This is the most joyful time of the year when the residents of Arkenvale reminisce about the battles they have fought and the victories they have celebrated throughout the centuries. The robust army of the nation had fought bloody battles to keep their homeland safe, and the festival honoured their bravery and sacrifice through a daylong feast and merriment. The merriment will, however, be cut short unexpectedly as raging fireballs came flying down from the sky, burning the whole village to the ground. Brin and Tia escaped just in time, and set out to search for their father, who was an officer in the army and had gone to fight off the invaders. The siblings went up one of the two hills to look for their father and to find a place of safety. But they discover something ghastly upon arrival. What did they find there? Did they find their father? Read on to begin an epic journey and get to know about Arkenvale's fate. Scroll up and get a copy TODAY

Examines alternative means to decrease the deployment time for the new Army medium-weight brigade, comparing air and sealift from the United States with air and fast (but short-range) sealift from forward bases or preposition sites. Historical experience and an assessment of U.S. regional interests are used to determine how much warning time the United States typically has before major force deployments and where it is most likely to deploy such forces.

In this monograph, the authors present their assessment of the value of 24-hour care as a mechanism for reducing workers' compensation costs and discuss possible options for 24-hour-care model programs.

Effective financial planning for executives and entrepreneurs is complex, dense, and impossible to reduce to a single, easy-to-understand formula. Designed to emphasize the importance of successful, targeted financial planning, this book begins by telling a story about a fictional, but plausible, power couple and their family who (spoiler alert!) do pretty much everything wrong in securing their financial future. In most cases, they don’t do the things needed because they don’t know what they are. Using this story as a case study of an executive and an entrepreneur, the book breaks down the case into chapters and offers practical discussions of all the key financial planning components—investment planning, tax planning, estate planning, philanthropic planning, risk management, and equity-based compensation to name a few—with the tools needed to tailor a plan for virtually every circumstance and need. While there is no single plan that works for everybody, this book provides a guide, with technical information alongside general themes, focused on how to build an effective financial plan. In addition to all the benefits of the first edition, this second edition provides significant new content and insights for the entrepreneur who is planning for a future liquidity event such as a sale. It also provides detail on how to manage concentrated ownership positions and on ESG investment strategies, a rapidly growing investment theme. Finally, the second edition includes tax, estate planning, regulatory, and other updates to reflect changes since the first edition was published.

The colorful, visual universe of a globe-trotting street artist who paints with purposeFor street artist Seth, walls around the world have been canvases for resilience, a space where imagination and real-life encounters become murals of expression, dialogue, and community. Children are often a part of his work, taking him—and us—through city streets on a poetic discovery of their universe, like the rabbit hole into which Lewis Carroll’s Alice plunges.Seth: On Walls is an insightful, visual exploration of a decade of his travels and the paintings he created in locations such as the working-class districts of Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and the war-torn Donbas region of Ukraine. Drawing inspiration from local myths, legends, and tales, and often collaborating with other artists, Seth works within the social, political, and cultural contexts of the places he visits. Through an emphasized mixture of murals and photography, Seth captures the story of a multidimensional globe that is fascinating and simultaneously under threat. Although his work consists mostly of paintings, the photography he shares not only immortalizes the ephemerality and memory of his work but also conveys the spirit of the place and the relationship between the artwork and its environment. Seth: On Walls is a delicate illustration of the beauty and shadows of the world we live in.

Canadian cartoonist Gregory Gallant (b. 1962), pen name Seth, emerged as a cartoonist in the fertile period of the 1980s, when the alternative comics market boomed. Though he was influenced by mainstream comics in his teen years and did his earliest comics work on Mister X, a mainstream-style melodrama, Seth remains one of the least mainstream-inflected figures of the alternative comics' movement. His primary influences are underground comix, newspaper strips, and classic cartooning. These interviews, including one career-spanning, definitive interview between the volume editors and the artist published here for the first time, delve into Seth's output from its earliest days to the present. Conversations offer insight into his influences, ideologies of comics and art, thematic preoccupations, and major works, from numerous perspectives--given Seth's complex and multifaceted artistic endeavours. Seth's first graphic novel, It's a Good Life, If You Don't Weaken, announced his fascination with the past and with earlier cartooning styles. Subsequent works expand on those preoccupations and themes. Clyde Fans, for example, balances present-day action against narratives set in the past. The visual style looks polished and contemplative, the narrative deliberately paced; plot seems less important than mood or characterization, as Seth deals with the inescapable grind of time and what it devours, themes which recur to varying degrees in George Sprott, Wimbledon Green, and The Great Northern Brotherhood of Canadian Cartoonists.
