The World According to Bridget Jones: Discourses of Identity in Chicklit Fictions examines the cultural functioning of a popular contemporary strand in mainstream Anglo-American literature, known as chicklit . Assuming that the interpretive potential of chicklit novels is connected with the process of identity formation, the book points out the possibility of the reader's identification with certain fictional discourses permeating the convention. The study focuses on complex links between Anglo-American cultural discourses and narrative constructions of identity and explores narrative representations of contemporary family, love, and sexuality. It also tackles the relation between chicklit and consumerism, reconstructing salient characteristics of contemporary consumer culture and the position of the fictional female consumer within discourses of body, beauty, and shopping.

The present work reports the design of experimental work to be executed for establishing approximate generalized empirical model for Processing time, Weight of briquette at outlet, Power, resistive torque, temperature rise, Percentage of moisture content, Percentage of Ash content and calorific value of briquettes during Briquette manufacturing Process on the basis of experimentation data chosen, using methodology of engineering experimentation. This research also includes the design and manufacture of process of Briquette along with theory of experimentation. It also includes formulation of mathematical model and its sensitivity analysis, reliability, optimization and limiting values. Designing of experimental setup for measurement of power, current drawn, processing resistive torque, temperature and time required for each processing operations using specially designed circuits is also mentioned in this work.

At the age of 15, she finds the body of her stepfather, a man with a history of mental illness, who has hanged himself in the family home, leaving behind his natural daughter (Bridget's half-sister, Philomena).
