This is an exploration of the underlying dialogue with Christianity in the works of a prominent American agnostic poet.In this original study of Elizabeth Bishop's lifelong engagement with Christianity, Laurel Snow Corelle illuminates the ways in which Bishop's Protestant childhood and reading of Christian literature, coupled with her deep commitment to agnosticism, inform the works of this former poet laureate of the United States. Corelle sees in Bishop's writing a sophisticated and sustained interrogation of orthodoxy that exquisitely balances Bishop's religious upbringing with her agnostic stance.Corelle immerses the reader in Bishop's works and world in order to convey the rigor, subtlety, and complexity of the poet's dialogue with Christianity and its literature. Bishop was a self-proclaimed nonbeliever; yet she grew up in two devout Protestant homes, and she studied Christian literature throughout her life. As a result some of the perspectives and prejudices voiced in her verse are transparently Protestant. Placing Bishop's work in direct relation to some of her favorite Christian texts, Corelle locates her within the intellectual milieu of post - World War II America in which she wrote.This study, which spans the course of Bishop's poetry and draws as well on her letters and prose, illustrates how she incorporated allusions to scripture and Protestant sacraments in a subversive critique of organized Christianity and how her appropriation of three traditional genres common to Christian literature - allegory, pastoral elegy, and spiritual autobiography - advanced her own poetic purposes.

El presente trabajo fue concebido con el objetivo de brindar un apoyo al proceso de aprendizaje de aquellos estudiantes que est n dando sus primeros pasos en el rea de c lculo. El desarrollo de los ejercicios resueltos presentan una serie de caracter sticas novedosas que facilitan la comprensi n del estudiante, entre algunas de ellas est n: 1. La incorporaci n de una columna al margen derecho de la resoluci n de los ejercicios donde se explica brevemente en cada paso la operaci n matem tica empleada; 2. Algunos ejercicios se resolvieron por dos procedimientos diferentes para mostrar al lector la variedad de alternativas que puede utilizar para abordar un problema de derivada; 3. Los pasos requeridos para la resoluci n de un ejercicio fue realizado en forma gradual tratando de evitar simplificaciones y desglosando las operaciones de derivadas para que luego de realizarlas volverlas a agrupar obteniendo la respuesta final. Todas estas caracter sticas en el dise o y desarrollo del texto lo convierten en una herramienta id nea para alcanzar por parte del estudiante un aprendizaje independiente o en forma cooperativa con sus compa eros de estudio.

Seit einigen Jahren gibt es in einigen Studieng ngen f r den Mathematikunterricht auf Hochschulebene eine problematische Situation, die L sungen von allen Mitgliedern der Bildungsgemeinschaft erfordert. In einigen Forschungsarbeiten, die von Fachleuten aus dem Bildungsbereich verfasst und in Fachzeitschriften mit Peer-Review ver ffentlicht wurden, wird mit Besorgnis dar ber berichtet, dass in jedem akademischen Zeitraum eine betr chtliche Anzahl von Studenten in den ersten Studienjahren in mathematikbezogenen F chern zur ckgestellt wird und das Studium abbricht. Angesichts dieses kritischen Panoramas in der universit ren akademischen Realit t unternahm der vorliegende Autor ein Forschungsprojekt, das darauf abzielte, einen p dagogischen Vorschlag aus einer konstruktivistischen Perspektive zu entwickeln, der die metakognitiven Prozesse, die Selbstwirksamkeit und die Ziele der Studenten ber cksichtigt und sie mit einem didaktischen Ansatz verbindet, der sich auf das L sen mathematischer Probleme und IKTs konzentriert.

For some years a problematic situation has been occurring in some chairs dedicated to the teaching of mathematics at the university level, and which is requiring solutions from all members of the educational community. In some research papers written by professionals specialized in the educational area and published in peer-reviewed journals, they report with concern the recurrent form that is occurring in each academic period, of a significant number of deferred students and dropouts in subjects related to mathematics in the first stages of the university career. Faced with this critical scenario in the university academic reality, the present author undertook a research work that aimed to develop an educational proposal from a constructivist perspective, taking into account the metacognitive processes, self-efficacy and goals of students, linking them with a didactic approach focused on mathematical problem solving and ICTs.

Da alcuni anni, in alcuni corsi dedicati all'insegnamento della matematica a livello universitario, si sta verificando una situazione problematica che richiede soluzioni da parte di tutti i membri della comunit educativa. In alcuni lavori di ricerca scritti da professionisti specializzati nel campo dell'educazione e pubblicati su riviste peer-reviewed, si segnala con preoccupazione il verificarsi ricorrente in ogni periodo accademico di un numero significativo di studenti rimandati e di abbandoni nelle materie matematiche nei primi anni di studi universitari. Vi blir kjent med en ung manns personlige liv, hans hustru Ella Quist Nilsen, og hans familie. Hvem var han, hva skrev han, hva var han opptatt av? De originale og epokegjørende diktene som ble trykket i samtidens aviser og hefteutgivelser, blir visuelt levendegjort i en samtidig kontekst. Vi møter Rudolf Nilsen som journalist i Norges Kommunistblad (NKB) der hans store og vidtfavnende produksjon av alvorlige, humoristiske, og ironisk-sarkastiske tekster ble trykket. Atopia as both the site of architecture’s critical confrontation with hegemonic systems and the theoretical space in which its own processes can be challenged. A literal no-place, atopia represents the spatial end-product of a society seemingly flattened by supra-territorial flows of information and material. It expresses both a physical artifact and condition of mass culture, and like the global systems of production and consumption from which it is conceived, atopia is both nowhere and everywhere at once. For the contributors of Perspecta 54, the ephemeral conditions of atopia are also an invitation to an equally unconstrained critical practice. Blurred boundaries—geopolitical, virtual, technical, disciplinary—offer sites for transgressive speculation and critique from beyond the limits of traditional design agency. What results is a form of design practice that ambiguously straddles impossibility and hyperreality. Atopia rejects both the escapist fantasy of utopia and the nihilism of dystopia, favoring instead a conceptual middle ground from which real-world conditions can be productively engaged and challenged. Architecture’s traditional objectives of critical inquiry—particularly the location of modes of complicity, agency, and resistance within larger structures—are mediated and reframed through nontraditional strategies of speculative design and fiction. For a profession that is routinely asked to navigate extreme complexity with limited tools, this approach suggests an expanded operational domain and possibilities for reinvigorated creative thought. From urban crises and climate emergencies to border disputes and geopolitics, Perspecta 54 examines atopia as both the site of architecture’s critical confrontation with hegemonic systems and the theoretical space in which its own processes can be challenged.
