Condenser is a device designed to separate one or more components of a vapour mixture by reducing the gas or vapour to its liquid form; laboratory glass condensers are established to be the commonest heat exchangers in most teaching and research laboratories.These condensers have been used in reflux reactions, distillation of liquid mixtures and extraction of important organic compounds over the years.However, these glass condensers, in spite of being the most common heat exchangers have undergone little or no design improvement.This book reveals how proper design can enhance the surface area of a condenser.Therefore, the data collected as a result of the design modification and performance analysis of the number of bulbs introduced on the outer jacket of Allihn and Graham glass condensers proved that effective design of the condenser increases the cooling system.This text will help in creating an understanding of the operating system of Allihn and Graham condensers, the relationship between design modification and the efficiency of the design;more so, it will also encourage native effort in the optimization of the condensers by design, re-design modification of new and existing ones.

Das Ziel dieses Buches ist es, postmoderne Romane und vor allem das zu untersuchen, was Linda Hutcheon "historiographische Metafiktion" nennt. Der Roman, mit dem ich mich befasse, unterl uft die konventionelle Geschichtsdarstellung und problematisiert die Geschichte. Am Ende des ersten Teils meines Buches wird der Leser in der Lage sein, den theoretischen Hintergrund kennenzulernen, auf den ich mich in meiner Analyse von Graham Swifts Waterland beziehen werde. Der Leser wird wissen, dass Waterland ein Beispiel f r die postmoderne Geschichtsschreibung ist, weil es die Grenzen der Geschichte bei der Darstellung der Wirklichkeit betont.
L'objectif de ce livre est d' tudier les romans postmodernes et principalement ce que Linda Hutcheon appelle la "m tafiction historiographique". Le roman que j'aborde subvertit la repr sentation historique conventionnelle et probl matise l'histoire. A la fin de la premi re partie de mon livre, le lecteur sera en mesure de conna tre le contexte th orique auquel je vais me r f rer dans mon analyse de Waterland de Graham Swift. Le lecteur pourra savoir comment Waterland est un exemple de l'historiographie postmoderne gr ce son insistance sur les limites de l'histoire dans la repr sentation du r el.
Lo scopo di questo libro studiare i romanzi postmoderni e soprattutto ci che Linda Hutcheon chiama "metafiction storiografica". Il romanzo che sto affrontando sovverte la rappresentazione storica convenzionale e problematizza la storia. Alla fine della prima parte del mio libro, il lettore sar in grado di conoscere il background teorico a cui far riferimento nell'analisi di Waterland di Graham Swift. Il lettore potr sapere come Waterland sia un esempio di storiografia postmoderna grazie alla sua sottolineatura dei limiti della storia nella rappresentazione del reale.
