Even though the setting of this story is in an urban metropolitan area, initially the neighborhood was one of familiarity and closeness. Young people walked freely from one house to another without fear. Friends rang the doorbell and opened the screen in one gesture and surely no one was afraid to sit alone on the porch at night. However, one young man changed the atmosphere of the community into one of terror indicated by barred windows, weapons and barren streets at night. One man changed not only the neighborhood but the emotional state of all who were affected by his presence for years to come.Ingrid Brown is an Oklahoma native and was educated in Illinois, Kansas and Oklahoma. She earned a Bachelor of Social Work from Wichita State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Oklahoma. In addition to Village Vengeance, Ingrid is the author of Miss Sadie's Song. She has one adult son and one grandson.

Ingrid Popa Fotino presents a window into the workings of the Soviet Union in a suspenseful drama of escape, survival, and achievement with a startling ending. Born in Romania in 1940, Ingrid experienced the Soviet occupation of her country and the regime of terror it imposed. As a nine-year-old prisoner facing the possibility of execution, she encountered hope, despair, and finally acceptance. Her perilous escape with her parents and her little sister led eventually to a new and fulfilling life in the United States but not to relief from the Soviet grip that even extended across the Atlantic. The spectacular fall of the Iron Curtain in 1989, followed by the collapse of the Soviet Union two years later, allowed Romania to be free again after more than 40 years of almost total isolation from the world outside the Soviet sphere. Ingrid, together with all the refugees in the East European diaspora, could reconnect at last with her family of birth and the world she lost at age 8. It felt like discovering that there is life after death: a rebirth. In Rebirth, Ingrid Popa Fotino vividly recalls her life experiences. Her purpose in writing this book is to expose the grievous effects of the Soviet Union in her lifetime, especially when Russian President Vladimir Putin bemoans its collapse. The moving combination of historical and personal narratives, particularly regarding the repercussions of Soviet Communism on both sides of the Atlantic, is the focus of her story.

This is the first book in the series The Diary Of A Country Girl - a collection of inspirational readings designed to encourage and motivate you to walk out your purpose in Christ, by divulging certain truths, nuggets of wisdom and revelations I believe were given to me by the Holy Spirit through my own personal experiences. This book is designed to be an easy read. A quick read at lunchtime or on a bathroom break. A moment of serenity before a busy and challenging day. A breath of fresh air during the torrents of life. Each segment designed to uplift and motivate you, ending with supporting scripture and a challenge. A challenge that just might create avenues for further self-examination, devotion, decision and change. The kind of change that will allow you to feel the presence of God and desire to know Him more. If not, then I've failed miserably in what I was called to do. But still, I won't give up. I will do what I must do. So, in order to speak into your life and to encourage you, my life has to measure up. I have to be an example of what I'm saying. How can I guide you without knowing the way? How can I relate to you, to anyone, without the experience of knowing the change that is possible through God at work in my life? So, to give, I have to first receive. I cannot give anything except that which I possess. So I wait on God, and I pray, and I live expectantly. Because the revelations He gives brings life... and joy... and peace... and knowledge... and wisdom... and insight into the things that touch us the most. He is a loving God and He knows exactly what each of us needs.
"There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under the heavens" -Ecclesiastes 3:1 (NIV) This Scripture is one that I hold very close to my heart... it speaks to me of the cycle of life. In it, God underlines the inevitability of change. Nothing will stay the same - the good or the bad. Everything has 'a season.' Life is full of seasons: some last longer than others, some are more difficult than others, and some we miss. Throughout this book, I will share with you some insights and reflections on the seasons that I have journeyed through, and that I have witnessed in those around me. Also, I will share spiritual enlightenment, Scripture readings, and information. Through my words, I hope that God will pour out His blessings upon you and upon anyone with whom you share them. I want to dedicate this book to my daughter Isabella without whose encouragement and foresight I would not have started writing. Also, to my husband Raymond for his constant loving support and wisdom-filled words.

It's time to snatch your power back, woman Bitch: A Reclamation is salty and irreverent women's poetry. These pages bring to life a brutally honest look at the lived experience of an American millennial woman.Poet Ingrid H. Turner is fearless in her exploration of the nitty gritty emotional realities of womanhood, motherhood, love, and grief."When somebody calls you a bitch, say thank you."- Gloria SteinemWith a nod to Gloria's brand of feminism, Ingrid is encouraging women to re-brand their power and reclaim words that historically have been used to denigrate and subdue women - such as Bitch. With the overturning of Roe V. Wade and the subsequent marginalization of women in America, now is an important time for women to share their experiences with truth and courage. Now is a pivotal time for women to reclaim their power - to take it back from even the words that are used to insult and contain. The fight ahead may be long, but through the raging authenticity women share with each other and the world, it will be won.Foreword by Monika Carless, Author of The Dark Poole Trilogy
