Tuttavia, va notato che dall'entrata in vigore della Costituzione del 18 febbraio 2006, che ha creato la Terza Repubblica nella Repubblica Democratica del Congo, i partiti politici sono stati adeguatamente regolamentati. Va notato che dopo un lungo periodo di dittatura nella Repubblica Democratica del Congo, con la Terza Repubblica i politici hanno dato una nuova aria al funzionamento dei partiti politici.
