The subject of this research is the job satisfaction of nurses working in the Emergency and Intensive Care services of the ULS, Nordeste, essentially because of the scientific evidence which considers that professional satisfaction also boosts user satisfaction, the quality of care and the efficient use of resources, from a cost-benefit perspective. This is an observational, analytical and cross-sectional study of a quantitative nature, with a structured questionnaire applied to a population of 96 nurses. The sample showed low levels of job satisfaction, which shows the need to promote improvements in human resource management, boosting productivity and the performance levels of professionals by focusing on improving the factors that can interfere with their job satisfaction and consequently promote an increase in the quality of care provided.

Job satisfaction, job involvement and organizational commitment are the most researched topics these days. But the issue is that no reference book is available on these three topics. Little bit information is available in organizational behaviour book, but the detail theoretical background is not available there. For writing this book author took thorough review of previous researches relating to job satisfaction, job involvement and organizational commitment. Theories developed by various researchers are found out and are included in this book. This book contains the complete theoretical background of job satisfaction, organizational commitment and job involvement. The language of this book is lucid, simple and easy to understand. Topics are logically arranged. I hope that students and teachers would invariably use this book for their reference. This book may particularly useful to the researchers for referencing and taking literature review. It is quite possible that in working of this book, some of the errors might have crept in. The author would be grateful if any such errors are pointed out. Suggestions for the improvement of this book are most welcome.

This research included an analysis of the relationship between psychosocial risk factors (environmental demands and physical effort, participation and management of change and social relations at work) and job satisfaction in workers of companies in the construction sector in the city of Monteria. This study consisted of a sample of 47 workers, the largest proportion of whom were between 20 and 30 years old, with less than 7 years of seniority working in companies of the construction sector, with a predominance of temporary contracts. It is evident that the psychosocial risk factor with the highest number of workers in the highest level of risk are the environmental demands and physical effort, this could be conditioned by the work environment in which this type of workers develop, due to the high temperatures, noise, lack of order and cleanliness conditions, the physical load and the scarce industrial safety present in the development of their activities.
