What do a migrant worker camp, a Japanese American assembly center, an Army Signal Corps training center, a prisoner of war branch camp, an Army Air Corps overseas replacement depot, an Army branch port of embarkation, and Walerga engineer depot have in common? They were all located on the same property as Camp Kohler, California. The Army land holdings in Sacramento County would grow from a 160-acre tract in1942 to over some 3,800 acres at its high point in 1944. Most of the land was leased throughout its history and returned to its owners starting in 1946 when no longer needed by the Army.

Der Senat von Rom entwickelte sich seit der hohen Kaiserzeit kontinuierlich weiter. Er verlor zwar seinen Einfluss auf au enpolitische und milit rische Entscheidungen und seine Beschl sse besa en auch nicht mehr eine allgemeine rechtliche G ltigkeit, doch der rege Kontakt zum Hof des Kaisers zeigt, dass er von politischer Bedeutung war. Er best tigte die Kaiser nach ihrer Erhebung durch das Heer im Amt und entschied ber ihre Ehrungen. Die Kaiser wiederum tauschten sich mit ihm ber innenpolitische und juristisch-administrative Themen aus. Zudem besa der Senat richterliche Befugnisse bei Hochverratsprozessen.Mit der Absetzung des letzten westr mischen Kaisers kam mit einer Ausnahme kein Kaiser mehr nach Rom. Die Ostgotenk nige ben tigten allerdings den Senat, um ihre Herrschaft zu legitimieren und politisch-administrative Entscheidungen durchzusetzen.Die Gotenkriege setzten vor allem der Senatorenschaft zu. Der Senat verlor daher seit dem sp ten 6. Jh. zunehmend an Bedeutung. Dennoch sprechen verschiedene Indizien daf r, dass er sich nicht aufl ste, sondern bis in die karolingische Zeit fortbestand.Die verschiedenen Aktivit ten und Entscheidungen des Senats sowie die Besuche der Kaiser werden in mehreren Anh ngen bersichtlich zusammengefasst.

Auch zehn Jahre nach dem Inkrafttreten der Europäischen Insolvenzverordnung und mehreren Entscheidungen des Europäischen Gerichtshofs hat die Diskussion um das vorzugswürdige Verständnis des facettenreichen Interessenmittelpunktes kein Ende gefunden. Ulrich M. Wolf gelangt zu einem praxistauglichen Lösungsansatz, der einen einheitlichen Gerichtsstand für die Insolvenzverfahren verbundener Unternehmen eröffnet und auf diese Weise eine Brücke zwischen der Europäischen Insolvenzverordnung und den Bedürfnissen der Insolvenzpraxis baut.
