The troubles in the life of a Frenchman in Lorraine began when he was four years old. Eduard witnessed his father's suicide and withdrew into himself for a time until he could again feel affection for another person, and then it was only for his younger sister Eliane. He had no plan to ever fall in love. Not what one would expect from a typical Frenchman but then Eduard was not typical. At the age of fourteen his mother revealed that his real father was a German soldier who served in occupied France during the Great War. Five years later a young lady, who is vehemently anti-German, falls in love with him and ignites a fire that will burn with such intensity that without her, life would seem cold and dark. They come of age just as World War II begins. Eduard says nothing of his father because Laure-Anne was his life. He could not imagine living without her; withdrawal would not be an option. They must just go through life together, forever. That was the plan . . .
From Me, to You is a memoir written in the form of letters to the many people who have influenced my life over the years. Most of the individuals I have written about are from my immediate family on my mother's side; others are either close friends, prominent speakers, writers, and even well known musicians. Every situation, concept, or memory revealed in these letters have affected and influenced my life in a myriad of ways. And now, I am sharing them with you. My hope is that you will find comfort, inspiration and strength to live the rest of your life with purpose- on purpose.

There is a force that powers the Christmas spirit, a magic that makes lights shine brighter, cookies taste sweeter, and keeps reindeer in the air. It is a power as old as Christmas itself, an unseen electric current of kindness, cheer, and good will. That force is called peppermint lightning. It is fading and in need of a champion.Sidney, a nine year old school girl from Pleasant, Ohio, full of peppermint lightning herself, is called upon to help restore that magic to its former glory. She is recruited by a hopeful elf, an English gingerbread man, a matronly reindeer, and a proud snowman to bring the spirit of Christmas, the peppermint lightning, back to a community that has lost theirs. If she fails in her task, the spark of the holiday will fade and with it all the magic of Christmas. Will her determination, her random acts of Christmas kindness, and a little holiday mischief be enough to put the spark back in the season?
