The Window is Tiffany Simar's seventh book. This is a book of solely poetry which is something that Miss Simar has been wanting to accomplish for a while now. The pieces in this book are of a variety and pick up from where her lyric/poetry book, My True Heart left off. This book may carry a "Parental Advisory" but don't let that keep you from purchasing a copy. The Window will open you up to more of what the author is about and her views on life, love, etc. Enjoy: -)

Tiffany Lynn's memoir Unstoppable: A Story of Resilience is a compelling narrative where the author shares glimpses into her personal evolution. Tiffany details how ambition, hard work, and embracing her authenticity influenced her journey as a teen parent from extreme poverty to a successful leader in her field, earning six-figures, then to entrepreneur, author, and coach. Tiffany writes about overcoming obstacles, defying the odds, breaking out of boxes, and walking in her truth. Hers is a story of Resilience - finding her calling amid the magnificent and horrific moments of her journey that made her a force to be reckoned with who refused to accept what the world told her she deserved. She has been broken down and rebuilt, stepped out on faith, and started over many times to reach this point in her life. Unstoppable is a raw, vulnerable story of faith, courage, authenticity, and healing. Tiffany vividly and movingly describes the day everything changed forever, God's constant presence in her life, perseverance through even impossible times, and choosing faith over fear. Ultimately, she felt led to share her experiences with hopes to inspire readers on their own journeys. If you are looking for a motivational speaker or coach or to build more internal strength, set and execute your big, ambitious goals, build trust within yourself, and develop faith in your journey, you found a great place to start.

Gendering Legislative Behavior

Gendering Legislative Behavior

In democracies, power is obtained via competition. Yet, as women gain access to parliaments in record numbers, worldwide collaboration appears to be on the rise. This is puzzling: why, if politicians can secure power through competition, would we observe collaboration in Congress? Using evidence from 200 interviews with politicians from Argentina and a novel dataset from 23 Argentine legislative chambers over an 18-year period, Gendering Legislative Behavior reexamines traditional notions of competitive democracy by evaluating patterns of collaboration among legislators. Although only the majority can secure power via competition, all legislators - particularly those who do not have power - can influence the policy-making process through collaboration. Tiffany D. Barnes argues that as women have limited access to formal and informal political power, they collaborate more than men to influence policy-making. Despite the benefits of collaboration, patterns of collaboration vary among women because different legislative contexts either facilitate or constrain women's collaboration.

She twitched her finger, feeling the picture building up in her mind. She sat up at neck-breaking speeds, scrambling around for something to draw with. She found something cylindrical and found the felt tip, and began scribbling on the ground. She didn't move her left hand as she continued to draw, using both skin and concrete as her makeshift canvas, seeing what others couldn't. For hours she drew, sweat lacing with the muggy air, running down her body, and into her eyes and mouth. Not that it mattered to her. They'd sewn them shut years ago.
