Learning to think innovatively requires practice. This workbook, which serves as a companion to Roberta Ness's Innovation Generation: How to Produce Creative and Useful Scientific Ideas, provides over 150 exercises and activities to hone creative problem-solving skills. Workbook tasks include improvisation, insight exercises, and generative skill building. Each chapter addresses doubts that individuals harbor concerning their ability to improve their innovative output, the techniques to work around frames, metaphors and biases in thinking, manipulatives to rearrange problem conceptualization, insight, intuition, collective innovative output from groups, and social and environmental factors that affect creative thinking. The workbook features straightforward and heuristic exercises for both individuals and groups.

Wake up, Sober Up is an eight-chapter study that challenges the reader to wake up and evaluate attitudes, behaviors and conditions which negatively impact their distinctiveness, influence, and efficacy as witnesses and disciples of Christ. Often, we are oblivious to the subtleties that chip away at our calling in Christ and the convictions we once held so dearly. We may find ourselves going through the motions, unmotivated and uninspired, living day to day in ritualistic fashion without any concern for our spiritual responsibilities. However, to remain in a spiritual stupor or state of indifference will render us fruitless and useless for the work of our Lord. It's high time that we arise from the drunkenness of sin and take hold of God's gift of salvation This study is to encourage all to remain sober and alert while traveling the narrow road leading to everlasting life.

This book explores communication on Facebook, developing the new theoretical concept of context design as a way of understanding the dynamics of online interaction. Against a backdrop of fake news and other controversies surrounding online political debate, the authors focus on inadvertent acts of offence on Facebook; that is, when users of the site unwittingly offend or are offended by the airing of political or religious views, or of opinions deemed racist or sexist. Drawing on a survey of Facebook users, they explain why instances of offence occur and what users report doing in response. They argue that Facebook users contribute to the construction of a particular social space, one that is characterised by online conviviality and a belief that Facebook is not the place for serious debate. These views in turn shape the kind of political debate that can take place on the site. This thought-provoking book will appeal to scholars and students of applied linguistics, and anyone interested in the role of social media in contemporary political and social life.
