Roddy and The Stolen Wheels: Roddy and The Stolen Wheels: An Unexpected Adventure on a Summer Holiday
Let me introduce you to the world of 'Roddy, ' the principal character of this book series. He is a typical boy of his generation born shortly after World War II, in a time when the outdoor play and community living makes life appear simpler. The story takes place in Australia in the 1950's in the capital city of West Australia. Perth came to world notice in 1962 as a result of Astronaut John Glen's orbit over the Southern Hemisphere. As any eleven-year-old will know, life can be exciting as you take on more responsibility and find out how the world works. There is a good and not so good way to everything you do and say and Roddy is aware of this as he observes the people in his world. The Australian climate makes for an outdoors life with mates on bikes or just hanging out with little parental anxiety. Don't get me wrong, even in this uncomplicated world there were people who stole and behaved badly but the majority looked out for each other and you will understand better once you have read this adventure. Look for the special BONUS offer and be sure to read the page that explains the unusual words the Aussie kids used and discover what they meant. Enjoy your time with Roddy

Once known as Little Cow Harbor, the coastal community of Centerport on Long Island's north shore is rich in natural resources, including a beautiful harbor with several freshwater streams surrounded by wooded hills. Centerport was originally the site of several important mills, but in the late 19th century, it became a summer retreat for both the rich and the not so rich. Youth camps, most notably the Franciscan Brothers' Camp Alvernia; guesthouses; and resorts as well as popular restaurants dotted the shoreline. In the early 20th century, large estates were established by the Vanderbilt, Van Iderstine, Burling, Morse, DeBrabant, Whitney, and Corbin families on the Little Neck peninsula. As the 20th century progressed, modest and generously sized houses replaced the small farms and many of the large estates. The unspoiled natural beauty and rich history has for centuries drawn residents whose love of Centerport continue to make our village a great place to live.

In Hell by mistake? Better hope your loved ones call a Soul Retriever. When an innocent soul is accidentally sent to Hell, loved ones can hire a certain specialist to return the soul to Heaven Gate. However, if the specialist dies in Hell proper, his soul is trapped there for eternity. These specialists who risk damnation are known as Soul Retrievers. Getter has begun an assignment he takes personally, perhaps too personally: retrieve the soul of Brittany, a ten-year old girl, the same age his own daughter would have been had she lived. This time, however, a strange plot is brewing behind the normal dangers of Hell. Retrievers are disappearing, including Getter's brother-in-law, and an army is forming in secret. Teamed with Sneaker, a female Soul Retriever dealing with her new "Life" as a vampire, and an odd collection of retrievers, souls and demons, Getter only wants to finish his mission. But whispers of prophecy tell of a war between Satan and Mephisto, the Helland Security Chief, and name Getter as a man with a destiny he does not want. This fast paced adventure in Hell is the first of the Soul Retrievers series. For an Interview with Sneaker go here -https: //davidburtonwriting.com/sneaker-interview/

"We are all cursed, I think."During the time of the Revolutionary War in New Bedford, Massachusetts, fishermen became privateers and the British Navy planned an attack to destroy the town. Bone Of My Bone tells the story of an historical family as they attempt to survive a time of war and divided family loyalties. The Jenney family are in constant turmoil, both publicly and privately--a state of being recently exacerbated by a sudden financial hardship. Isaac, the eldest son, is an innocent man striving to be a good son, husband, and father. But what he wants most is independence--a farm of his own--which his father is not eager to grant him. Ephraim, the family patriarch, is a Tory, loyal to the king. Isaac's brother, James--a whaler, privateer and sharpshooter--is caught up in the adventure of the revolution, and is unpredictable and volatile. Another brother, Sleigh, is perhaps mentally ill, and acts out in bizarre ways that turn the community against the family. Add to this a profound family tragedy shrouded in secrecy, the violent murder of an abusive constable, and sundry addictions and thick layers of hidden darkness. The fragile fabric of the family begins to unravel as war finally comes to their doorstep. Isaac's smart and loyal wife, Maggie, hatches a dangerous plan to save Isaac and secure his independence. Or are the family's darkest days still to come? David C. Lavoie uses extensive historical and genealogical research to render a sumptuous depiction of the family, their lives, and the birth of our nation.
