Die seit 1990 in Brasilien durchgef hrten ffentlichen Ma nahmen zur beruflichen Qualifizierung zielten auf die Ausbildung von Fachkr ften aus verschiedenen Bereichen ab, darunter auch Ma nahmen f r den l ndlichen Raum. Trotz dieser Ausrichtung hat sich ihre Umsetzung jedoch als unzureichend erwiesen, und die meisten Ma nahmen sind auf den st dtischen Raum ausgerichtet. In dem Ma e, wie der l ndliche Raum versucht, potenzielle Gesch ftsm glichkeiten zu erkennen und unternehmerisch t tig zu werden, tr gt er zur Entwicklung der Wirtschaft und des Ortes, zur Verringerung der Abwanderungsstr me, zur Schaffung neuer Produkte und Dienstleistungen und vor allem zur Schaffung von Arbeit und Einkommen bei. Allerdings verf gt die Mehrheit der Landarbeiter nicht ber die notwendigen Qualifikationen, um den neuen Markttrends gerecht zu werden. Die Entwicklung einer ffentlichen Politik der beruflichen Qualifizierung im l ndlichen Raum erm glicht es den Arbeitnehmern, sich auf die neuen produktiven Anforderungen vorzubereiten. Dieses Buch ist das Ergebnis einer Forschungsarbeit, die zusammen mit dem Studenten Emanuele Cristina Martins de Brito, Stipendiat der Wissenschaftlichen Initiative UFRRJ/CNPq, der heute einen Bachelor in Verwaltung hat, durchgef hrt wurde.
