In 2012, she realized her long-time dream of becoming a doctor when she completed and was conferred the Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Argosy University, Alameda, California. She married Rosauro Del Rosario, Jr. (1956-2007) and has two daughters, Jeanne Marie and Catherine, and three grandchildren, Jillian, Kayleigh, and Mason. They all live in California.
