"I bought a copy for my friend's daughter and she LOVED it There are strong, smart female characters, the book is well paced and well written, and most importantly, it's FUN to read "-Amazon Customer, 5 Star Review"My 9 y.o. is a reluctant reader. I always have to start a series out by reading with him. After we finished the 1st chapter, he said: 'Mom, I want to be a ninja ' That was last night. This evening he ran up to me and said: 'I just finished the whole book I love it. VERY MUCH '-Amazon Customer, 5 Star ReviewSECRET MISSIONS. SPIN KICKS. SINISTER GHOSTS.Thirteen-year-old Agent Darcy is one of the top students at the Bureau of Sneakery, where there are three rules every agent must follow: never make friends with an outsider, never speak of the Bureau, and never reveal your real name. Lately, Darcy has hit a rough patch: her rival, Agent Serena, keeps outdoing her. If things keep going this way, Darcy is convinced that no one will ever assign her a real mission. Ninja Steve's city, Ninjastoria, is the home of sword fights, throwing stars, and Tae Kwon Donuts. Unlike his genius older sister, twelve year-old Steve isn't the best ninja student. He'd rather be swinging a sword instead of taking notes in class. Steve, however, is about to learn that being a true ninja means far more than being able to use a sword. When Darcy is sent to Ninjastoria as an exchange student, it will turn both of their lives upside-down and raise all kinds of questions: What do the mecha-moles want? Who is the man in the gray mask? What do ninjas eat for lunch? And why are there tiger stripes all over the cover of this book? Time to read and find out

Genetically engineered Daniel Henstock - codenamed Tiberius - hoped that with Gregory Dryden dead the Emperor Initiative would be leaderless, its interest in him forgotten. He was wrong, and only two months after the dramatic events in Staten Island they decide to strike. They kidnap Eleanor and tell her their truth about her father: that he tortured Daniel, and that the boy who claimed to be in love with her killed him because of it. Stung by the bitterness of betrayal she agrees to be the instrument of his downfall. Daniel is determined to finally bring the Emperor Initiative to an end but with his talents diminishing he acknowledges it's a task he can't accomplish alone. Miles Brennan and William Cross have to step out of the shadows to make good on their promises of help but in doing so they create powerful enemies. Daniel travels to the Initiative's overseas base but finds that Eleanor is trained and ready for him. Rescuing her and destroying the Initiative may not be as easy as he first thought ... TIBERIUS CROWNED is the final instalment in a thrilling young adult action/adventure series - The Emperor Initiative - that has been described as "Alex Rider meets Jason Bourne."

A wry, unvarnished chronicle of a career in the rare book trade—now in paperback When Gary Goodman wandered into a run-down, used-book shop that was going out of business in East St. Paul in 1982, he had no idea the visit would change his life. He walked in as a psychiatric counselor and walked out as the store’s new owner. In The Last Bookseller Goodman describes his sometimes desperate, sometimes hilarious career as a used and rare book dealer in Minnesota—the early struggles, the travels to estate sales and book fairs, the remarkable finds, and the bibliophiles, forgers, book thieves, and book hoarders he met along the way. Here we meet the infamous St. Paul Book Bandit, Stephen Blumberg, who stole 24,000 rare books worth more than fifty million dollars; John Jenkins, the Texas rare book dealer who (probably) was murdered while standing in the middle of the Colorado River; and the eccentric Melvin McCosh, who filled his dilapidated Lake Minnetonka mansion with half a million books. In 1990, with a couple of partners, Goodman opened St. Croix Antiquarian Books in Stillwater, one of the Twin Cities region’s most venerable bookshops until it closed in 2017. This store became so successful and inspired so many other booksellers to move to town that Richard Booth, founder of the “book town” movement in Hay-on-Wye in Wales, declared Stillwater the First Book Town in North America. The internet changed the book business forever, and Goodman details how, after 2000, the internet made stores like his obsolete. In the 1990s, the Twin Cities had nearly fifty secondhand bookshops; today, there are fewer than ten. As both a memoir and a history of booksellers and book scouts, criminals and collectors, The Last Bookseller offers an ultimately poignant account of the used and rare book business during its final Golden Age.

The not so great Great Recession. Christmas. An out of work father. And an injured, aging family pet requiring costly ACL surgery. Ron Stempler fully intended to have their nine year old Labrador medically fixed up until everyone suggested an unthinkable alternative. Everyone except his wife and his daughter Darlene who claimed to have an unbreakable ESP connection with her beloved black lab. While trying to decide what to do with the animal they consider a "family member", it is Ron himself - disenfranchised, self doubting, but loving father - whose hard choices allow him to rediscover his valued place as a "family member".
