A story that details the rise of the Young brewing dynasty and places it against the political and social background of Hertford and it's surrounding areas where the brewers were active during the 18th and 19th centuries. Of particular interest, is the surprisingly crucial role played by the women in the family (at a time when women were thought to be mainly inactive in business) in providing capital, premises and the support needed to further the dynasty's interests in a volatile and competitive market.

Space Creator... What is that? Are you one? Have you ever had to create space for someone in your life? Where do you begin?.. How do you feel?.. Overwhelmed? Relieved? Is it worth it... Your Creator longs to encounter you, revealing Himself and showing you who you are. Creating space for Him will change EVERYTHING. Space Creator is for men and women that are ready to examine the closet of their hearts, acknowledging that our lives are often full of things that hinder our ability to see, hear and experience God. You will identify the habits and mindsets that trap you in cycles of denial, fear, failure, limitation, regret, etc., and how to live free. Now is the time to create space. You will never be the same From the moment we open our eyes as infants, we are looking, seeking, and searching for the face to match that gentle touch or familiar voice that has greeted our entry into the world. From the very beginning, there is something in us that recognizes what's real and what or who's important. We must try to open our eyes, attune our ears and reach out in hopeful exploration of finding what we long for. We were made with a seeker's way. Our senses open the world to us by stimulating our desire to interpret what is happening around us. The image of Space Creator is like going through your bedroom closet. For most of us, that closet is unlike any other in the house because it holds all our favorite things, our special occasion things, our "remember when- maybe I can fit it again things" and other odds and ends that are too important to place anywhere else in the house. Often our closets are filled with things we've forgotten we had, or items that we'd rather others not see. Our closets hold much more than clothing and shoes, our sometimes-overflowing closets can represent much of what happens in our hearts and in our lives. As you walk through these pages, I encourage you to take your time and follow the gentle leading of the Holy Spirit. Resist the urge to live vicariously through my experiences with God and those of others that I'll share. Be still and experience Him. The three stages of the Space Creator cycle: 1. Full - complete, to capacity, unable to hold more, satiated 2. Empty - void, spacious, unfilled, available to receive, positioned to hold, exposed with vulnerability 3. Space - access, openness, possible, opportunity, complete and whole, boundless capacity and poised for impact Let the work begin.

Capturing the magic of a day at the beach, The Wild Waves Speak, reveals a child's delight in listening to the ocean, building sand castles and playing in the surf. Children will have numerous opportunities to learn the letter "w" and practice its sound as they join in the ocean's repeated whisper, "w w w whoosh." Speech and reading skills are interdependent and children make leaps toward literacy when those skills are taught together; this book does just that in an entertaining fashion. The rhyming text in this story will charm early readers and those working on their "w" sound production. And the illustrations will inspire both parent and child to spend a day together at the beach.Speech therapists, teachers and parents alike, will find this book a valuable resource in building articulation, phonemic awareness and early reading skills. Children will be entertained as they listen to the poetic text and pour over the illustrations depicting the ocean in all of its moods. The descriptive language and artwork will engage the readers as their vocabulary naturally grows. This book will make an excellent addition to preschools, early elementary schools, public libraries, speech therapist's collections and home libraries.
Marie can't seem to keep her voice or body quiet as she twitches and twirls her way through life hearing, "Sh Sh Sh " at every twist and turn. Her irrepressible spirit has her leap through the living room practicing ballet; pound with exuberance on a toy drum (near the neighbor's window); and imitate a baby baboon during story-time at the library. Children will laugh with delight at her antics and relate to the common refrain, "Sh Sh Sh " Their delight will increase at the end of the story when Marie gets to say the final "Sh "Speech, language and reading skills are interdependent and children make leaps toward literacy when those skills are taught together. This story, besides providing entertainment, will help children learn the letter combination "sh" and give them practice pronouncing it as they join in the repeated refrain Sh Sh Sh
A young boy tells of his Mama's needle and her spool of long white thread. She uses it to patch holes in the knees of his pants, bind scraps of cloth into quilts and stitch dreams into reality. When he has a magical dream of her needle and thread, mama stitches a quilt together for remembering, and on it, are patches of his dreams. Wearing his quilt as a cape, he flies with his imagination. The narrator of this engaging story is a young African American child. One night, he dreams of his Mama's needle and her spool of long white thread, flying through the air with its white tail of thread floating along behind, like it's riding a wave. The needle catches a bird flying by but doesn't hurt it. It spears some leaves shivering in a tree, and rays from the sun. It even snatches the tail of the wind and wrestles it onto the thread. His mama laughs when she hears about the dream but she stitches the images onto a quilt. "Her long shiny needle stitched those pieces together for remembering. Mama says I should go ahead and fly with my dreams." And he does, taking his quilt with him. It becomes a cape as he rides a dog sled up a snow-covered mountain; a parachute, a saddle-blanket on a camel, a tent, a sail on a sail-boat and finally, a flying carpet.
