I wrote my first poem when I was in the 6th grade. Poetry is something I have always found to be freeing and expressive. It allows me to speak bravely with a pen. Then I found spoken word and that was it. A mouthy low-esteem chick now had an outlet. There is nothing like microphone spit. It is my cure on sick days.
