About the AuthorDavid Kingman was born in the USA, in 1942. Throughout his life, he has been actively performing his unique brand of Country & Western Music in taverns, hotels and parks, throughout the country. When David was a young man, he began working as a studio photographer, and later after joining the military, he served in Vietnam, as a U.S. Army Photographer and Photo Lab Technician. After 23 years of working in the Sales Division of a local cemetery, David was forced to retire as a result of his mental disability, and presently lives with his wife, Dottie in Dayton, Ohio. In Vietnam, David began to suffer mentally from the affects of such a hostile environment, his nerves, under combat conditions, eventually forced him to seek psychiatric counseling for his depression, anxiety, fears, PTSD, panic attacks & continual thoughts of suicide. Since David left the military, he has been under the care of private psychologist, and presently, he remains under the guidance and supervision of the Veteran's Administration Mental Health Doctors, 100% disabled. David Kingman's constant companion for the past twenty years has been writing. He wrote a 300 page book featuring more than 500 biographies of prominent local citizens buried in Dayton, (The Shrines of Woodland) which was purchased by the historic cemetery. David's Science Fiction Book, (RAL, SPACE COLONIZER) reflects his life and mental health issues, as visualized through the eyes of Ral, the books main character. David realized that in effort to write a successful book, he would need to write about familiar subjects. David had studied the Bible for more than 30 years, so he knew he was well versed in the scriptures, he also loved the old Star Trek TV Series, and he had lived daily with alcoholism, drugs and mental illness, so he decided to combine it all into his book. David after four failed marriages, brought about by his mental issues, is now married to Dottie Kingman, (Singer & Songwriter) a very supportive wife that keeps him walking the straight and narrow way. She thanks God daily for David's medications e.g., Trazodone HCL and the other psychotropic medications that make her life so much more bearable, while living with David's psychosis. It is David's sincere desire that his book will inspire young and old to come to a personal relationship with their Creator.
Evidence-Based and Cost-Effective Medicine for the Uninitiated
The use of home detoxification enables health care workers to avoid episodes of in-patient care, with its inherent high costs and secondary problems of label attachment and possible stigmatization. Patients, their carers (professional, voluntary and domestic), families and friends all involved in this 'at-home' process, thereby leading to empowerment and increased compliance. This book provides practical advice and guidance. If all the procedures here are followed, the care worker of whatever discipline is unlikely to encounter major difficulties. "Alcohol Home Detoxification and Assessment" provides the kind of model increasingly required for the move towards community care of people with a whole range of conditions, and will enable professionals to organize the process with confidence.

Build Awesome Command-line Applications in Ruby

Build Awesome Command-line Applications in Ruby

David B. Copeland

The Pragmatic Programmers
2012
nidottu
As Ruby pro David Copeland explains, writing a command-line application that is self-documenting, robust, adaptable and forever useful is easier than you might think. Ruby is particularly suited to this task, since it combines high-level abstractions with "close to the metal" system interaction wrapped up in a concise, readable syntax. Moreover, Ruby has the support of a rich ecosystem of open-source tools and libraries. Ten insightful chapters each explain and demonstrate a command-line best practice. You'll see how to use these tools to elevate the lowliest automation script to a maintainable, polished application. You'll learn how to use free, open source parsers to create user-friendly command-line interfaces as well as command suites. You'll see how to use defaults to keep options simple for everyday users, while giving advanced users options for more complex tasks. There's no reason a command-line application should lack documentation, whether it's part of a help command or a man page; you'll find out when and how to use both. Your journey from command-line novice to pro ends with a look at valuable approaches to testing your apps, and includes some fun techniques for outside-the-box, colorful interfaces that will delight your users. With Ruby, the command line is not dead. Long live the command line. What You Need: All you'll need is Ruby, and the ability to install a few gems along the way. Examples written for Ruby 1.9.2, but 1.8.7 should work just as well.
