Anna och Ferdinand Boberg bestämde sig för att rädda det gamla Sverige, med teckningsblock och anteckningsböcker. Året var 1916 då de gav sig ut på en tioårig odyssé Sverige runt. De for från Övertorneå i norr till Smygehuk i söder, från Gotland i öster till norska gränsen i väster. De ville dokumentera den bebyggelse de trodde skulle försvinna under den nya tidens tryck av industrialisering, urbanisering och modernisering. De for i egen bil, med egen chaufför. Resultatet blev 3050 blyertsteckningar varav en dryg tredjedel användes som förlaga till planschverket Svenska bilder från 1900-talets början. Nu har konsthistorikern och byggnadshistorikern Louise Nyström gjort samma resa och 100 år senare uppsökt Bobergs platser. Här presenteras resultatet i denna praktbok med 300 av Bobergs teckningar och lika många fotografier från samma platser i dagens Sverige. Louise Nyström är professor, arkitekt och författare. Hon har tidigare arbetat med stadsmiljöfrågor och är bosatt i Karlskrona.
