1000 tulosta hakusanalla Lin Rudder
MAN AGAINST TIMEJohn Lux was an electronic scientist, a level-headed industrialist, an ordinary twentieth century man -- at least he thought he was an ordinary man......until he discovered he could teleport himself......until he discovered that forces 200,000 years beyond his time were trying to destroy him...until he discovered that civilization of the future was being pampered into extinction in a kindergarten world and he was the only man in all eternity who could save it...But until John Lux discovered how to use his dormant powers, he was a helpless pawn in a time war -- and both he and the planet were doomed
On Earth, life held for him only the fate of a recluse--confined to daydreams and the lore of ancient wonders but apparently destined never to share them--until he found the formula that let him cross space to the world of the Green Star. There, appearing in the body of a fabled hero, he is to experience all that his heroid fantasies had yearned for. A princess to be saved . . . an invader to be thwarted . . . and otherworldly monsters to be faced! A thrilling adventure in the grand tradition of Edgar Rice Burroughs, as only Lin Carter can tell it! This edition includes an afterword by Lin Carter.

Tea is an essential part of Traditional Chinese Medicine and with Tea Therapy you can learn to unlock the healthy properties of this delicious beverage. There are six categories of Chinese tea; green tea, black tea, yellow tea, dark tea, white tea and oolong tea. Its many beneficial ingredients, such as polyphenols and vitamin C, help to keep the human body healthy, giving due weight to the traditional Chinese saying that "tea is the medicine of ten thousand ailments." Tea Therapy is a perfect combination of the six kinds of teas with Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), maintaining the original flavor and function of each tea and providing effective TCM remedies at the same time. This is a good way to alleviate the symptoms of various ailments and illnesses. This book is divided into two parts. The first part is a detailed and systematic interpretation of several aspects of tea; the history of tea culture, the efficacy, the medicinal history and the ingredients, as well as the usage of tea as therapy. The second part classifies diseases into different sorts and lists more than 180 easy to make tea treatments. Readers can find the most suitable remedies for their conditions.
A Mathematical Introduction to Electronic Structure Theory

Based on first principle quantum mechanics, electronic structure theory is widely used in physics, chemistry, materials science, and related fields and has recently received increasing research attention in applied and computational mathematics. This book provides a self-contained, mathematically oriented introduction to the subject and its associated algorithms and analysis. It will help applied mathematics students and researchers with minimal background in physics understand the basics of electronic structure theory and prepare them to conduct research in this area.A Mathematical Introduction to Electronic Structure Theory begins with an elementary introduction of quantum mechanics, including the uncertainty principle and the Hartree–Fock theory, which is considered the starting point of modern electronic structure theory. The authors then provide an in-depth discussion of two carefully selected topics that are directly related to several aspects of modern electronic structure calculations: density matrix based algorithms and linear response theory. Chapter 2 introduces the Kohn–Sham density functional theory with a focus on the density matrix based numerical algorithms, and Chapter 3 introduces linear response theory, which provides a unified viewpoint of several important phenomena in physics and numerics. An understanding of these topics will prepare readers for more advanced topics in this field. The book concludes with the random phase approximation to the correlation energy. The book is written for advanced undergraduate and beginning graduate students, specifically those with mathematical backgrounds but without a priori knowledge of quantum mechanics, and can be used for self-study by researchers, instructors, and other scientists. The book can also serve as a starting point to learn about many-body perturbation theory, a topic at the frontier of the study of interacting electrons.
Phytoremediation Using Constructed Mangrove Wetlands

Phytoremediation is the use of green plants and their associated microbiota, soil amendments, and agronomic techniques to remove, contain, or render harmless environmental contaminants. It is an emerging technology which offers a potentially cost-effective and environmentally sound alternative to the environmentally destructive physical methods which are currently practised for the cleanup of contaminated groundwater, terrestrial soil, sediments, and sludge. Mangrove wetlands are an important buffer for adjacent marine ecosystems. They are vital for healthy coastal ecosystems, which not only offer a nursery ground for a number of commercially or ecologically important aquatic organisms, but also provide prime nesting and migratory sites for birds and wildlife. This book summarises the recent progress in the research on the feasibility and potential of phytoremediation using constructed mangrove wetlands for wastewater and contaminated sediments.
