Unfortunately for him, the responsibility landed solely on his shoulders. His younger brother Vince, wanted nothing more than to gad about town and the country posing as a playboy, on Justin's dime. Their mother had birthed Vince at a later time in her life and had spoiled him rotten, to the point of him almost blowing all the family fortune. Vince had worked a few minor jobs here and there, but it was all too boring and mundane for what he thought his status should be. In his mind, he felt he was destined for more than just being a mere working man.When Justin's sister Rosemary graduated from college, she too wanted nothing to do with the ranch. She hung out with her friends and literally frittered away precious time. That is, until the day she met the love of her life and her now husband, Gary Hanson. Only one of Justin's siblings, his youngest sister, Rita at some point wanted some of the land to start an organic food project on their land, she actually wanted to be a real farmer. She was the only sensible sibling and the one who loved the ranch as much as Justin did Rita wanted to grow healthy organic food that was not contaminated by pesticides and not genetically modified. But, while trying to find just the right location for her new farming venture within Rancho Majors, the geologist they hired, discovered minerals he thought conducive to finding oil. Even before the digging began for the well, the adjoining ranches created havoc amongst themselves and decided it was time they lay claim to something they wanted. They made a big hullaballoo about the amount of acreage in Rancho Majors and made overtures to the degree of threatening to take what was not even rightfully theirs because they said it was stolen from the rightful heir. Conflicts ensued and unexplained things kept happening. Cattle went missing or turned up dead, chickens were found with their necks broken, mysterious fires ignited and machinery vanished. Justin was extremely concerned and was visibly shaken the day his barn was burned to the ground. What made matters worse was, some of their animals were trapped inside. He decided to take matters into his own hands and got a recommendation from his friend who knew Michael Monroe. He told Justin his wife was a PI and was the best in her field. The next day he called in Madison Monroe, to see if she would come to Aberdeen and figure out who was behind all the mysterious, bizarre, happenings at Rancho Majors.
