This biography of the underappreciated American Revolutionary hero Jack Jouett puts forth the case that his intrepidness was of huge consequence during America's War of Independence. In the years immediately following the War of Independence, the Virginia-born Jack Jouett was colloquially termed the 'Paul Revere of the South'. Taking to his horse to warn the-then Governor of Virginia, Thomas Jefferson, of approaching units of British cavalry, the success of Jouett's rapid journey across the vast swathe of rugged, rural landscape helped the revolutionary Americans prepare and combat this British incursion. Had Jouett's ride not occurred or had been a failure, it is possible that the successful British expedition would have resulted in the capture of some or all of Virginia's leadership. This book, in describing Jouett's deed and life, makes the case that he is deserving of much greater respect in modern America and recognition in the annals of history.

Jack Russell Terrier Training - Dog Training for your Jack Russell puppy The training of dogs is often...... confused with classical dog training drills... only considered necessary for demanding dogs... mocked by other dog owners... replaced by anti-authoritarian methods... considered too difficult to achieve without experience. What constitutes dog training and what is it good for? And how can you and your Jack Russell profit from it without having any experience? The most important thing is to understand how a dog sees his world, what is "normal" for him and how you can use this to your advantage. In addition, the characteristics of each breed are significant when you get beyond the basic training phase. Your Jack Russell will show characteristics which are different to those of a Husky, for example, and this is predominantly what you need to consider during training. This book is vol. 1 of the Jack Russell training books. Vol. 2 for your grown up Jack Russell is also available with the title "Jack Russell Terrier Training Vol. 2: Dog Training for your grown-up Jack Russell" Author Claudia Kaiser says about her book: "It was my desire to let other dog owners profit from the knowledge I have gained over many years, and after making many mistakes. I love my dog and know how important it is to adapt the training to suit each breed. It is exactly this desire that prompted me to write this book. My aim is to help every beginner, not only to understand his dog better, but also to know exactly how to get the best results, step-by-step, so that you can achieve a close, positive and trusting human-dog relationship."Quench your curiosity to know about background information, read reports on other experiences and obtain step-by-step instructions and secret tips which are tailor-made for your Jack Russell. Get your copy of this book today and experience...... how your Jack Russell sees his world... and how you can progressively train your dog to receive the best results. Your Jack Russell will appreciate it...... so this is my advice: Don't hesitate to buy this book Content of this book: About the AuthorPrefaceWhat you need to know about your Jack RussellCornerstones of training puppiesBefore the puppy arrivesThe first few weeksThe first commandsTraining basic knowledgeSpecial Chapter - The hunting instinctCheck list for the startConclusion

Although the story of Jack the Ripper has been told many times, the crime scene locations and the killing ground which he and his unfortunate victims would have been familiar with has been largely left unknown. This book is the literary equivalent of a walking tour around the sites that would have been frequented by those who lived in Whitechapel in 1888. Using the original police reports, new images, maps and diagrams the book takes the reader deep inside Jack the Ripper’s London and presents the truth about what actually happened in the autumn of 1888 and what remains of the notorious killer’s London today. The focus is on the ever-changing face of London’s East End, giving the reader a real sense of how the past meets the present in arguably London’s most vibrant and cultural quarter, where the shadow of the Ripper is never too far away… Jack the Ripper’s London features previously unseen images from the authors’ own collections and detailed crime scene reconstructions that have never been published before. This will be the perfect companion for anyone wanting to visit the East End of London or those who wish to get a sense of where everything happened in Jack the Ripper’s day.
Between April and November of 1888, a shadow descended upon the streets of London's East End. Night workers - predominantly prostitutes - were targeted in a brutal series of murders. Of the dozen reported killings, six bore the chilling signature of a single murderer, who would later become infamously known as Jack the Ripper. This enigmatic killer left a macabre calling card: surgically excising organs from his victims. Despite numerous theories and alleged familial ties proposed over the decades, the true identity of Jack the Ripper remains elusive. Modern forensics and passionate amateur sleuths have pursued the mystery, but the waters are muddied with myths and hearsay. Can we ever claim to be related to someone whose identity is unknown? The Ripper's reign of terror may have been brief, yet its impact lingers on. Copycat killers have emerged over the years, attempting to emulate Jack's nefarious deeds, but none have matched the intrigue surrounding the original Ripper. Whether this phantom killer was a transient or a local, their identity - and whether they fled England or met their end within its borders - remains one of history's most compelling enigmas. Delve into this book and decide for yourself: after journeying through its pages, do you think you've come closer to uncovering the truth about Jack the Ripper?
