Ten Battles Every Catholic Should Know offers readers richly detailed accounts of pivotal engagements--many little known in the West--in the centuries-long defense of Christendom against militant Islam. Join military historian Michael D. Greaney as, in gripping prose, he describes the struggle, primarily on Christendom's eastern borders, against the dreaded Ottoman Turks in places such as: - Manzikert, which marked the beginning of the fight, - Wallachia, where Vlad II, the real "Dracula", carried out a personal crusade against the Turks to such good effect that his name strikes terror down to the present day, - Moh cs, "the Tomb of Hungary," - Vienna (the siege of 1529), the first setback experienced by S leym n the Magnificent, perhaps the greatest ruler the Ottoman Turks ever knew, - Szigetv r (known as the "Hungarian Alamo"), - ...and five others. The accounts of battles are enlivened and expanded with historical footnotes and introductions. Though less well known than the struggle to retake Spain and Southern France, the battlefields of Armenia and Eastern and Central Europe were just as crucial to preserve Christendom. Includes 12 battle maps.

Songs of my songs are poems that are based upon the Bible and also from my faith journey. These poems were composed between 1983-to the present. These poems are my songs of thanks to God for all of his blessings. My purpose for sharing these poems is to provide encourage and inspiration. There two long poems in the collection. 'The Pilgrim's Journey' tells the story of the search for spiritual renewal. 'The triumph of Christ' is about the death and resurrection of Jesus and his victory over the devil.

Identifying data sources helps readers organize their data collection. Two chapters on research designs structure the data collection process with procedural diagrams. A unique chapter on mixed methods sampling offers application through basic and advanced designs. The book illustrates integrating and implementing mixed methods designs with practical advice for each of stage of the process. Ethics in a mixed methods context readies readers for the research protocol stage. Several chapters fully explicate the data analysis process, including developing a joint display, a state-of-the-art procedure for analysis and presentation of findings. Closing out the process, the text tackles quality and evaluation in mixed methods studies, preparing your study for publication, and writing up your article.

Sometimes it may seem as if running a family is like trying to manage a circus. There are too many rules that no one remembers. Discipline is inconsistent and there is not enough time to do everything. Now there is a simple approach that is so easy to learn that even the youngest child can say and understand it. This is so effective that it eliminates most negative behaviors even before they start. How would you enjoy it if whenever you take your family out, people constantly come up and say, "Your children are so well behaved. How do you do it?"It all comes down to applying five simple one-word family rules consistently in love to develop godly discipline in the home.

This story, which should be read by anyone with a general interest in medicine, or pursuing a career in medicine. It is based opon journal entries and interviews with a whistleblowing physician. It describes the mundane, and raw events in the day to day activities at healthcare settings. It also reveals the angst, frustrations, observations, and experiences, and experiences of a discerning, compassionate physician. Although the facts ride a fictional background to deliver the message; it is a firsthand depiction of the business model that is contemporary medicine; including de facto euthenasia. It is unlikely you can read this story and think about healthcare the same way again. The story demonstrates the lack of compassion in creating laws, and policy and delivery as well as the process of creating and training of the physicians. Walk through the wards, and round with Reggie. He is a resident physician, entering medical training with high hopes and aspirations to make a difference. His idealism and naivete' fade as he becomes disgusted by the harsh nature of the contemporary healing profession. A profession that despite it's haughty contemporary facade, and tradition is basically a highfalutin vocational school. Its goal is to train the future extended employees of the pharmaceutical industry. This is a tale of the ego, greed and arrogance that permeates the profession and it's players. It is a first hand look at the profession from many angles. It 's no accident that your healthcare provider likely has an immature mind inhabiting an adult body complete with a cold heart, disconnected from humanity. The story covers the dehumanizing impact in the selection, creation, and training of physicians and medicine in general. It looks at the dark side of medical care delivery, which has little to do with health or prevention. It describes how individuals can harden their hearts, separate themselves from their souls and treat others in ways they would not wish to be treated. Elderly patients are dying. At first, Reggie thinks the events are just the random, sick people dying under hospital care, but soon realizes someone is playing the role of god and executioner. Torn between his personal values and beliefs, and the reality of the medical industrial complex, and its priority in creating indentured servants instead of compassionate physicians. His mind stretches as cognitive dissonance manifests as he experiences a disconnect between what he thought becoming a physician would be; and how dirty it can be . In the medical profession; it's often the scum that rises to the top. He languishes in a situation that becomes increasingly unbearable. How much can he take until he reaches his breaking point?
