Mira Un Gato: Little Lectores Book 5 A Spanish Decodable Beginning Reader Paco and his dog, Coco, love to see their friend, Zita. When they all see a cat, Coco is the one most excited by the new visitor. This book introduces the verb ""tiene"" and the consonant blend ""br."" Sample Sentence: Coco es un amigo de Zita. Little Lectores books are short, illustrated, decodable beginning readers originally written in Spanish. Join Paco and his best friend, Zita, as they embark on exciting adventures, solve everyday problems, and spend time with their favorite people and animals. Young children will love the funny illustrations and easy sentences, and parents and teachers will appreciate the guided and careful approach the authors have taken to turn learning letter sounds into reading in Spanish. The Little Lectores series is perfect for Kindergarten readers, with a 32-book decodable progression, each with Hispanic characters and simple sentences in a book sequence designed to develop reading fluency. This series has been designed by educators to teach reading in Spanish for English Language Learners, Spanish immersion classrooms, and beginning Spanish instruction. Corresponding books in the Little Readers series are also available in English. Little Lectores focuses on building phonemic awareness by gradually introducing new phonemes within each text. The pre-primers slowly introduce new sounds and 100 sight words, helping readers gain confidence and fluency. Each text follows a logical (if slightly silly) progression through the lives of Paco and his dog Coco. These lighthearted stories and engaging illustrations led one 5-year-old beta reader to ask, "proximo?" or "the next one?" over and over.

Mira I'm trying to help you, ok I write and talk about health and wellness all the time. It's pretty much my job. In a quest to find my target audience one day, I made a plea on twitter asking for help. Someone brought to my attention that I should specifically try to target Latinas. "No way." I thought, "These women are too hard headed." The truth is, I have been on a quest to help improve the health of Latinas for years. I have been watching friends and family members die. Not in the literally but over time, via Facebook. I was seeing pictures of women in my family aging way faster than they should be and get bigger and bigger by the selfie. I felt I had to do something so, I made the video "No Mas Tortillas." In this video I specifically targeted Latinas, pleading with them to make some changes to their diet. The video didn't go viral or anything but it did get some attention when I posted it on Facebook. People mostly found it entertaining more than anything else. Watch it. I'm hilarious. I felt like the women I was targeting got a good laugh but ignored my advice. Then, I got this post in response to the video: "You might be happy to know that, thanks to you, this Latina no longer eats tortillas, rice or beans, for a few years now My body and digestion are so much better now You're right, I do not want to suffer from the ailments my family did." Veronica. That's when I realized that I had gotten through to someone, that I had made a difference in someone's life. What if I could get through to someone else, even if it was just one more person? What if someone's mom, grandma or sister, took my advice and got healthy? I needed to press on with my quest, but how? Over the next couple months, Veronica shared my video with her mother and cousin. Both bought my book, The Complete Guide to Primitive Eating, and started the program. During a coaching call with Veronica, I had made a very valid point about weight loss that prompted her to ask, "Is that in your book?" It wasn't. That's when I knew I had to write this book. I had a blast writing this book. It allowed me to be creative and to learn a lot more about Latin American culture and the negative effects certain foods have on our bodies. And, because it came from the heart, it's good. The best thing I have written so far. In this book I am going to cover the following topics: -The harsh reality of your and your family's health -Agriculture in Latin America -Foods that are killing Latinas -Chronic Inflammation and Disease -Addressing your children's eating habits -An easy program to get healthy
