Bade sharam ki baat (Short Stories)
Among the popular Urdu humorists, one name is that of Azim Baig Chughtai. He succeeded in creating humor through practical jokes. The quality of his stories is their innovation, that is, he does not want to write fiction, but instead wants to establish realism. His stories are not devoid of the spirit of reforming morality and action, but in fact, behind every incident and character of his, there has been some reforming purpose.

– The New York Times”McQuiston teki sen taas.” – USA TodayCasey McQuiston on Louisianasta kotoisin oleva kirjailija, joka asuu New Yorkissa Pepper-koiransa kanssa. Producing Shared Understanding for Digital and Social Innovation
In the Anthropocene age there is a need for unifying the relationships between people, planet and technology, their interactions, experiences and impacts across ecosystems. In response to this need, this book introduces unifying bridging concepts informational waves and transdisciplinary resonance towards producing shared understanding. This book also presents emerging methods for transdisciplinary projects focusing on moments, paradoxes and dialogues for digital social innovation and sustainable development partnership goals for improving quality of life. Shared understanding is about how people from different fields and perspectives are communicating, curating, embodying, intuiting and reflecting on shared responsibilities within social ecologies. As a guide to co-designing for information experiences that create meaningful moments of shared understanding, the author illuminates essential transferable, lateral mindsets andsoft skills: knowing the gaps through imagination, creativity, listening and noticing, and bridging the gaps through problem emergence, multiple stakeholders, informed learning and personal change.

Understanding Shared Micromobility in China Using Massive User-generated Trip Data
This book provides a data-driven analysis of shared micromobility in China. Both bike-sharing and e-bike-sharing are considered and several Chinese cities (e.g., Shanghai and Hangzhou) are selected as study cases. It adopts a variety of methods including GIS, big data analytics, social network analysis and machine learning, to support the analysis. The research topics cover travel characteristics of shared micromobility, external impacts of shared micromobility (e.g., the environmental and equity impacts and the relationship with 15-minute cities) and the planning issues of e-fences and bike lanes. This book is an invaluable read for undergraduate and graduate students who are interested in urban and transport planning, travel behaviour and shared micromobility. It can also be used by urban geographers, transport researchers, and general readers interested in the area of shared micromobility in China.

Held Together: A Shared Memoir of Motherhood, Medicine, and Imperfect Love
"Rebecca Thompson's moving book proves that there are as many different ways of becoming a family as there are mothers--a personal, compelling reminder of why women's reproductive health care matters, and why one size does not fit all"--Jodi Picoult, #1 New York Times bestselling author"Immersive, compassionate, and vulnerable, Held Together invites us to walk with Dr. Thompson as she navigates her own journey to parenthood and the beautiful, messy, uplifting stories of the families she cares for along the way."--Lori Gottlieb, New York Times bestselling author of Maybe You Should Talk to SomeoneA primary care physician's moving memoir of navigating a complicated path to motherhood, interwoven with the stories of twenty-one of her patients, friends, and medical colleagues--and sharing the intimate truths of their diverse perspectives on being part of all kinds of families, born and built and chosen.Seventeen years ago, when Rebecca Thompson endured a string of life-threatening pregnancy losses and rare medical conditions, her training as a physician didn't protect her from feeling isolated and overwhelmed. What she longed for was a community of women--or even one encouraging story--to reassure her that she wasn't alone.Deciding to create the community she couldn't find in her own time of need, Dr. Thompson reached out to friends, patients, and medical colleagues and asked them to share the stories of their personal journeys to parenthood, as well as stories of how their families grew and changed and thrived as they faced challenges beyond those early years. Held Together explores the intersections of these brave, resilient women's lives with Dr. Thompson's own as they encounter a vast range of unexpected turns and obstacles, including fertility issues, adoption, fostering, surrogacy, multiples, abortion, stepparenthood, chronic disease, mental illness, the death of a child, the death of a spouse, and so many moments where grief may threaten to consume us--until joy sometimes surprises us.The extraordinary stories of ordinary women reveal that, while our individual circumstances may be unique, our experiences are universal in so many ways: we are creating life, raising children, and sustaining families, even as we search for reassurance that we are not alone in our struggles. Held Together offers a place of healing that welcomes every kind of family, a refuge where we make meaning out of our stories and embrace the belief that life can be beautiful in spite of--and often because of--all its complexities and imperfections. Our foundations may not always be strong, but together, we are.
The Economics of Globally Shared and Public Goods
The Economics of Globally Shared and Public Goods responds to an urgent need to consolidate and refine the economic theories and explanations pertinent to globally shared resources. Making a clear distinction between theories and empirical models, it elucidates the problem of global public goods while incorporating insights from behavioral economics. Its comprehensive and technical review of existing theoretical models and their empirical results illuminate those models in practical applications. Relevant for economists and others working on challenges of globally shared goods such as climate change and global catastrophes, The Economics of Globally Shared and Public Goods provides a path toward greater co-operation and shared successes.
Human-Machine Shared Contexts
Human-Machine Shared Contexts considers the foundations, metrics, and applications of human-machine systems. Editors and authors debate whether machines, humans, and systems should speak only to each other, only to humans, or to both and how. The book establishes the meaning and operation of “shared contexts? between humans and machines; it also explores how human-machine systems affect targeted audiences (researchers, machines, robots, users) and society, as well as future ecosystems composed of humans and machines. This book explores how user interventions may improve the context for autonomous machines operating in unfamiliar environments or when experiencing unanticipated events; how autonomous machines can be taught to explain contexts by reasoning, inferences, or causality, and decisions to humans relying on intuition; and for mutual context, how these machines may interdependently affect human awareness, teams and society, and how these "machines" may be affected in turn. In short, can context be mutually constructed and shared between machines and humans? The editors are interested in whether shared context follows when machines begin to think, or, like humans, develop subjective states that allow them to monitor and report on their interpretations of reality, forcing scientists to rethink the general model of human social behavior. If dependence on machine learning continues or grows, the public will also be interested in what happens to context shared by users, teams of humans and machines, or society when these machines malfunction. As scientists and engineers "think through this change in human terms," the ultimate goal is for AI to advance the performance of autonomous machines and teams of humans and machines for the betterment of society wherever these machines interact with humans or other machines. This book will be essential reading for professional, industrial, and military computer scientists and engineers; machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) scientists and engineers, especially those engaged in research on autonomy, computational context, and human-machine shared contexts; advanced robotics scientists and engineers; scientists working with or interested in data issues for autonomous systems such as with the use of scarce data for training and operations with and without user interventions; social psychologists, scientists and physical research scientists pursuing models of shared context; modelers of the internet of things (IOT); systems of systems scientists and engineers and economists; scientists and engineers working with agent-based models (ABMs); policy specialists concerned with the impact of AI and ML on society and civilization; network scientists and engineers; applied mathematicians (e.g., holon theory, information theory); computational linguists; and blockchain scientists and engineers.
