Quello che tenter di fare sar semplicemente esprimere le cose che mi sono state suscitate dal sentimento di amicizia che mi lega a Vincent 129 anni dopo la sua morte. Un filo comunicativo, un'energia mentale e affettiva ha stabilito fra noi due un legame inscindibile, una tensione insopprimibile, una medesima aspirazione d'intenti divenuta col tempo necessaria ed incredibile.E' morto suicida Vincent Van Gogh? Certamente no Semplicemente, perch in quei giorni egli non ha avuto nessun pensiero, nessuna volont di suicidarsi. Ogni mattina quando lasciava la locanda dei Ravoux, per immergersi nella natura estesa e luminosa che circondava il piccolo paesino di Auvers sur Oise, egli desiderava appassionatamente immergersi tra i colori e i profumi che gli offrivano la terra, il cielo e l'aria; si liberava di ogni pensiero superfluo, di quel di pi del quale egli non ha avuto mai bisogno. Vincent ascolt la musica della natura e ne color per noi, le note cangianti, irripetibili, irraggiungibili. A quella natura non avrebbe mai potuto rinunciare Vincent; come non avrebbe potuto rinunciare a Theo, a Jo, al nipotino Vincent, a se stesso.E' ancora da chiarire la dinamica della sua morte. Ma, a me, in questo testo, interessa solamente ricordare quanto fu immensa la sua voglia di vita.
