Kathy and her sister, Samantha, have always been a team. Throughout their time as witches, they've taken out more than their share of bad guys. But after Kathy meets Will, who she learns is a demonic Dark Knight, her loyalties begin to change. Meanwhile, Samantha doesn't trust Will or his intentions. Still, Kathy can't help but feel tempted by the dark side as she falls deeper in love with Will. Crossing over would give Kathy the freedom to do whatever she wanted with her magic. No rules. No limitations. It would also mean breaking the bond she has always shared with her sister, who has made it clear that she wants nothing to do with the dark side. When Will proposes they take over the underworld, Kathy loves the idea of having power. "If you are a space fan, fascinated by the kind of venture the International Space Station represents, this book is an absolute must, full of juicy details and intriguing insights." - Popular Science, March 2016 In 1984 President Ronald Reagan gave NASA the go-ahead to build a Space Station. A generation later, the International Space Station is an established and highly successful research centre in Earth's orbit. The history of this extraordinary project is a complex weave of powerful threads - political, diplomatic, financial and technological among them - but none is more fascinating than the story of its design. This book provides the first comprehensive account of the International Space Station's conception, development and assembly in space. As a highly accessible chronicle of a complex piece of design and engineering, it will appeal to readers far beyond the space field. NASA Astronaut Nicole Stott, a veteran of International Space Station Expeditions 20 and 21 and Shuttle Missions STS-128, STS-129 and STS-133, introduces the book with a personal memoir: A Home in Space.

After reading some scripture verses recently I thought how amazing they were. I often say in my head - wow Then I thought why not see how many others I can come up with. This book is not comprehensive, for it would have been about 10 volumes, so I have cut down drastically. As with all my books I would like to think people will read, question, research themselves and write their own notes. Although ANY words spoken by the Godhead are amazing, I have restricted the verses in this small book to what I personally consider to have the wow factor, even though, as I write this it feels as if I am demeaning any verses I have omitted. Hopefully, as with anything I write, I would like to think that if the reader has their own 'favourites', they will look at them again and see why they have a special meaning, and if inclined to do so, write their own notes, or even a book. Over 2,000 times in the Old Testament there are phrases such as, 'And God spoke to Moses' or 'the word of the Lord came to Jonah or 'God said.' That's just the references to God. I have drastically cut down the verses where God and Jesus spoke

Whilst this book is partially concerned with how I think I think, I am always open to having my mind changed, sometimes by human intervention, sometimes by divine intervention. The latter is not of the Damascus Road level of intervention, but through speakers, books, TV programmes, radio, songs, nature and any other source through which God can open up my mind, including of course, the Holy Spirit. Less so with human interventions, but I do obtain some valuable material from sources which are not biblically based. I do my uttermost to maintain a balance in what I write, in that I do not only quote references that only appease my way of thinking. I am not a neuroscientist, or a psychologist, psychiatrist or any other kind of 'ist', so I may not use the 'correct' terminology or follow scientific 'rules' that people would expect from such professionals. This is a book mainly based on personal experience with help from scripture and selected sources.

This is the third book of the Beyond the Mist Trilogy. In the first book the author was quite unaware of what was happening on his travels, the second he became slightly more aware and could relate some of the story to his personal life. This third book is purely personal, involving his wife and family and even their new puppy. The first two books involved walking through a mist to another world, this third book does not involve any physical mist but certainly involves unclear thinking and how reality and non-reality merges to a point where no one is certain which is which. This book follows the everyday life of someone who has just retired and 'simply' sorts out a box of coins The task may be simple but the consequences have a major impact on all involved. The trilogy may be finished but the story may have only just begun

This book presents a lively, rich, and concise introduction to the key concepts and tools for developing clarity and coherence in academic writing. Well-known authors and linguists David Nunan and Julie Choi argue that becoming an accomplished writer is a career-long endeavor. They describe and provide examples of the linguistic procedures that writers can draw on to enhance clarity and coherence for the reader. Although the focus is on academic writing, these procedures are relevant for all writing. This resource makes complex concepts accessible to the emergent writer and illustrates how these concepts can be applied to their own writing. The authors share examples from a wide range of academic and non-academic sources, from their own work, and from the writing of their students. In-text projects and tasks invite you, the reader, to experiment with principles and ideas in developing your identity and voice as a writer.

Speaking Up in a Culture of Silence

Speaking Up in a Culture of Silence

David Naylor

We know we should speak up and question what is being taken as normal in our work cultures — to notice and call out bad behaviour and resist being silenced. This book is a guide to what it takes to do this in a way that doesn’t expose you to the countermeasures of people who do not like being questioned. What is explored through case studies and personal experience are ideas about how to resist being silenced at work where there are competing demands on your time and energy and where people have learnt to tolerate bad and uncivil behaviours just to get the work done. There are no magic solutions or calls for decisive action. Just some modest ideas about what can help you hold onto your voice and your thinking so that when the time is right, you can say something that just may help keep us all a bit safer.
