Authenticity and Grace: Uncovering the Authentic Self is a quick guide for readers to easily identify their true authentic life. In this concise exploration, Dr. Smith reveals how we discover the nature of Grace, what it is, and how awareness about it can help us uncover the deep purpose we have been searching for. Looking for and discovering what he calls 'Gracepoints', Dr. Smith teaches readers how to remove barriers that inhibit the natural flow of Grace in our lives such as anxiety, depression, loss, fear, conflict, and despair.Understanding how the ego and conditioned thinking cover up who we really are allows us to begin the uncovering process that leads us to our authentic selves. The power of Grace can heal, provide renewed awareness and energy, and restore the lost sense of wonder which makes us truly individual and human. Best of all, Grace is completely free and each of us already has what we need to build a more rewarding authentic life-we just need to get out of our own way.

This is the story of James, John, and Hamilton Armstrong, three sons of a yeoman farmer living on the Pennsylvania frontier at the outset of the American Revolution. James and John joined the Continental Army in 1776, rose from the ranks to become officers, and served until the army was disbanded in 1783. Hamilton remained home to work the farm, protect the family, and serve in militia and "ranger" units to defend the frontier from repeated attacks from hostile Indian tribes. Their combined wartime experiences encompassed almost the totality of the American Revolution, from Canada in the north to South Carolina in the south and along the western frontier. James and John fought in most of the major battles of the revolution, including Princeton, Brandywine, Germantown, Monmouth, Guilford Courthouse, Eutaw Springs, and Yorktown, where they distinguished themselves in the eyes of generals like the Marquis de Lafayette, Mad Anthony Wayne, Light- Horse Harry Lee, Nathanael Greene, and George Washington.

In The Pauline Letters: A Rhetorical Analysis, David Oliver Smith unveils his revolutionary discovery that the apostle Paul divided his letters into structured literary units as he wrote them. These literary units are based upon repeated words, phrases, and abstract concepts and are invariably patterned into chiastic, parallel, or hybrid structures. Using his technique of rhetorical analysis, Smith sets out each literary unit in the seven undisputed letters of Paul. After the structures of the literary units have been exposed, the units reveal interpolations that disrupt Paul's original structure. When the interpolations revealed by this technique are compared with interpolations heretofore proposed by Pauline scholars, there are some surprising results. Smith also uses his technique to analyze the Deutero-Pauline letters to determine whether any of those letters exhibit the same literary attributes as the undisputed letters.

"I'm not afraid of dying. I'm afraid of dying in Coven House."It has stood outside a rural village in northwest Illinois for a century, a cursed farmhouse that seems as old as Time and as evil as icy Hell itself.Brought to life by a coven of flappers and fanatics, it has remained on earth as a haven for anyone who walks or crawls into it-fools, adventurers, lost souls all.Wealthy Curt Peterson disregards the stories surrounding Coven House as he seeks to communicate with his dead wife and daughter. He blames himself for their deaths and hopes that Coven House will allow him to be with them once more. With him are his new wife, Jill, a model, and her photographer, Eric Cullen, who is himself determined to document the ghosts and memories that still inhabit the old mansion. They will succeed.Coven House allows all who enter it to discover its secrets.Haunted horror in the tradition of Shirley Jackson and Richard Matheson."A compact, chillingly cerebral narrative. One of the scariest haunted houses ever."-Ken W. Faig, Jr.
Practical Theological Ecclesiology: Grounding, integrating, aligning, and improving ecclesial theory and praxis
PRACTICAL THEOLOGICAL ECCLESIOLOGY addresses the division that exists between theory and praxis. Theology in general and practical theology as a specific discipline has allowed this division to arise and indeed grow. The problem facing us is that faith communities now operate out of blind theory and/or blind praxis. To address this situation a reintegration of the theory and practice of the entire ecclesial praxis is needed. This thesis proposes "Practical Theological Ecclesiology" as the way forward. Practical theological ecclesiology addresses both the abstractness of pure ecclesiology and the pragmatics of the praxis through the development of an operational ecclesiology model that integrates the essence, expression and goal dimensions of the ecclesial praxis. By applying the operational ecclesiology model to praxis, practical theological ecclesiology, through the tasks of grounding, integrating, aligning and improving, uncover the gaps that exist in and between the theory and praxis of a faith community. The resulting analysis provides ecclesial pictures of what is, compared to what should be, according to the operational ecclesiology model. The areas of ecclesial life which need to be grounded, integrated, aligned and improved are therefore exposed for ongoing work. Historical and contemporary research of the Christian Community Churches of Australia, provide the data for a case study which illustrates the potential and the analysis process of practical theological ecclesiology. The research underlines the importance of having an integrated operational ecclesiology, of grounding and integrating the theory, of aligning of theory and praxis, and of providing improvement direction for the praxis, thus removing theory and praxis division, avoiding both blind theory and blind praxis, and giving a clear pathway for the future.

The Campbell Club is a 'Campus Novel' about a group of coeds living in a student housing co-op in Eugene, Oregon. It's subtitled "An Historical Romance, 1985" because it is set 40 years ago, but also this is an homage to Richard Brautigan's The Abortion: An Historical Romance, 1966 and is intended to have the same fun sense of erotic exploration in a world that feels fresh and mysterious to young and improving, inquiring minds. The protagonist, 22 year old Robert Gray, aka Sutra, wants normality back in his life after a stint at Rajneeshpuram (the intentional community branded a cult by the Establishment, now defunct.) A friend encourages him to return to school and complete his education as a path back into the world. But it's not obvious (at least to Sutra) that the world wants him back He discovers the Campbell Club is a cultural and spiritual microcosm of the wider world and falls under the spell of a dance major named Cindy Sterling. However, unable satisfy her, he gets some help in matters of the heart from an unlikely source.Meanwhile as the terms go by the co-op is changing. New members bring chaos and threaten to disrupt everything The Campbell Club stands for, while old members including Cindy leave. The catalyst of this period of crisis is the mysterious "love drug" Ecstasy: so powerful it alters personalities forever. Some, perhaps for the better; but there is danger as well. As the situation spirals out of control, friendships are broken, love lost, and betrayal leads to disaster. This is a fun read and at 75k words, an easy one. Buy it for a plane ride and have smiles all the way. This book was written "by hand" not with AI. I wrote every word.

For the first time in human history, the majority of people around the world now live in cities â€" and urban culture and values, communicated by electronic means, profoundly influence the lives of everyone on earth. In this stimulating and challenging volume, David Smith explores the history and nature of this development, identifying both its potential for good and the possibility that it might result in catastrophe. Drawing on a range of academic disciplines, he describes today's urban world, before offering an extended study of the theme of the city in the Bible, relating this to the challenges confronting cities in the twenty-first century. Smith outlines key theological themes and enables Christians to understand the globalized, urban world within which their faith must be confessed. He argues that this context presents world Christianity with a unique opportunity to share its vision of an alternative human community. He appreciates the insights of urban specialists, who are invited into a conversation concerning the biblical, God-centred vision of the city â€" a vision which can provide fresh imagination and hope for the century that lies ahead.
