Im Jahr 2010 wurde die Welt ffentlichkeit auf eine noch nie dagewesene Zahl von Todesf llen (insbesondere bei Kindern) durch Bleivergiftungen in den Goldbergbaugemeinden im Bundesstaat Zamfara im Nordwesten Nigerias aufmerksam. In ihrem Blut wurde eine hohe Bleikonzentration festgestellt, die auf den illegalen Abbau des bleihaltigen Erzes mit rudiment ren Werkzeugen zur ckzuf hren war. Dies f hrte zu einer Bleiverschmutzung, die den Boden, den Untergrund und das Oberfl chenwasser verseuchte. Foi detectada uma elevada concentra o de chumbo no sangue das crian as, em resultado da extra o ilegal de ouro em pequena escala do min rio rico em chumbo, utilizando ferramentas rudimentares. Este facto provocou uma polui o por chumbo que contaminou o solo e as guas subterr neas e superficiais. Entre as medidas tomadas, conta-se a descontamina o dos solos; esta investiga o tinha por objetivo determinar se os n veis de chumbo ainda eram significativos. Les eaux souterraines constituent une source tr s importante pour l'approvisionnement en eau, mais elles sont variables dans l'espace. Il est donc important d' valuer la variation des eaux souterraines dans la r gion afin d'am liorer leur exploration, ainsi que la conservation et la gestion de cette ressource. Les donn es Landsat ETM+ et GDEM fournies par ASTER, les donn es conventionnelles ainsi que les donn es m t orologiques ont t utilis es pour caract riser les ressources souterraines par observation directe des facteurs hydrologiques contr lant la surface et le sous-sol.
