Little Guy is a series of 25 images and poems that emerged over a period of two weeks, with a sense of urgency. Then, less than a month later, coronavirus appeared in the UK. We had to distance from each other; isolate, alone at home in a situation none of us has ever faced before. The rush to get Little Guy onto paper started to make sense. Many people battle with anxiety even in the best of circumstances; it is part of being a sensitive, fragile human being in a world that can be both frightening and full of wonder. Little Guy starts off anxious and depressed, before moving through hope and trust to a point where he is able to relate to the world and thrive again. Little Guy journeys with us. Emma Major is a mum, wife, friend, pioneer lay minister, blind wheelchair user and poet. She has recorded audio descriptions of every picture in the Little Guy book to ensure that everyone can access it.

Every day, four thousand American men become first-time dads. There are literally hundreds of pregnancy guidebooks aimed at women, but guys rarely rate more than a footnote. A Guy's Guide to Pregnancy is the first book to explain in "guy terms" the changes that happen to a guy's partner and their relationship during pregnancy, using a humorous yet insightful approach. Future fathers will find out what to expect when they enter the "Pregnancy Zone." They'll discover the right and wrong answers to Trick Questions like "Do I look fat?" They'll also learn baby-shower etiquette ("It's sooo cute!"), the truth about sex during pregnancy (yes, you can touch her) and Boys' Night Out (negotiate it), plus delivery room dos (stay upright) and don'ts (complain about missing the big game). A Guy's Guide to Pregnancy is designed to be guy-friendly -- approachable in appearance as well as content and length. It is divided into forty brisk chapters, one for each week of the pregnancy. Frank Mungeam is the executive producer of local programs at the ABC-TV affiliate in Portland, Oregon, supervising the Emmy-nominated daily live talk show AM Northwest and the series Parenting in the 90's. Mungeam combines his years of expertise as a communicator and his personal experiences as an expectant dad to create a humorous yet helpful guide for guys.

Meet Oldguy: your regular aging superhero whose powers have dwindled over the years, and whose very mechanics are seriously fizzling. In seriocomic misadventures, Oldguy valiantly attempts to continue his former heroism in a somewhat wry version of Faulknerian endurance, defeating his enemies time and again—if not through superhuman abilities, then at least by “outliving the sons-a-bitches.” With its comic book-style illustrations, Oldguy inhabits a space all to itself—not strictly a poetry collection, not quite a graphic novel—hybrid sure to visually and aurally delight.

A Guy for Christmas
Dear Santa, Please can you send me a guy for Christmas? Someone kind, good-looking, sweet... but who knows what he's doing? ( If you get my meaning;-) ) You must know SO MANY people. Surely you can give someone a shove in my direction?I'm serious here I need your help.I'm eighteen and I'm a virgin. That doesn't sound bad, right?Well, in my little town, most of the guys I went to school with are getting a lot of action. And bragging about it. They have their pick of girls.Only thing is? I don't want a girl. And gay or bi guys are pretty thin on the ground around here.Hell, the only gay guy I know of for sure is my neighbor, Mr. Quentin, but he's 'ancient'. He has to be at least thirty. Not that he isn't hot - don't get me wrong, he's smoking He was the coolest teacher ever, but he's not gonna be interested in a guy my age.Anyway, Santa.... I know you're kinda busy right now, but if you could spare a thought for my little problem, I'd be eternally grateful. Thanks, Santa.RobinP.S. I know I made it sound like it's all about popping my cherry, but a little Christmas romance would be great too. So no guys with snow where their hearts should be, okay? I want ALL the feelz.P.P.S On second thoughts, make that a lot of romance. But be careful, okay, Santa? I want a guy who'll steal my heart, not break it.

In 1895, the Lumière brothers invented the cinematograph. Less than a year later, 23-year-old Alice Guy, the first female filmmaker in cinema history, made The Cabbage Fairy, a 60-second movie, for Léon Gaumont, going on to direct over 300 films before 1922. Her life is a shadow history of early cinema, the chronicle of an art form coming into its own. A free and independent woman, rubbing shoulders with luminaries such as Georges Méliès and the Lumières, she was the first to define the professions of screenwriter and producer. She directed the first feminist satire, then the first sword-and-sandal epic, before crossing the Atlantic in 1907 to become the first woman to found her own production company in New Jersey. Alice Guy died in 1969, excluded from the annals of film history. In 2011, Martin Scorsese honoured this cinematic visionary, “forgotten by the industry she had helped create”, describing her as “a filmmaker of rare sensitivity, with a remarkable poetic eye and an extraordinary feel for locations”. The same can be said of Catel & Bocquet’s luminous account of her life.
