Organisational culture has influenced human behaviour, and this affects the effectiveness of management, as organisational behaviour allows the maintenance and improvement of people management by providing inputs for the work of leaders. The present research aimed to analyse whether the educational space seeks new strategies in students' behaviour through organisational culture. In what way, the school environment provides a reflection between behaviour and organisational culture and this environment can provide a modification in the behaviour and culture of students. To this end, a qualitative research was carried out in two schools that offer from Elementary Education to High School, one of which is part of the Public network and the other of the Private network. The objective was to deepen and understand the students' behaviour. Observed the attitudes of individuals, group and organisation within the school context, it proved that the organizational behaviour strategies developed by school managers are far from the real behavioural needs of institutions.

The obesity epidemic and the growing debate about what, if any, public health policy should be adopted is the subject of endless debates within the media and in governments around the world. Whilst much has been written on the subject, this book takes a unique approach by looking at the obesity epidemic from an economic perspective. Written in a language accessible to non-specialists, the authors provide a timely discussion of evolving nutrition policies in both the developing and developed world, discuss the factors influencing supply and demand of food supply, and review the evidence for various factors which may explain recent trends in diets, weight, and health. The traditional economic model assumes people choose to be overweight as part of a utility maximisation process that involves choices about what to eat and drink, how much time to spend on leisure, food preparation, and exercise, and choices about appearance and health. Market and behavioural failures, however, such as time available to a person, education, costs imposed on the health system and economic productivity provide the economic rationale for government intervention. The authors explore various policy measures designed to deal with the epidemic and examine their effectiveness within a cost-benefit analysis framework. While providing a sound economic basis for analysing policy decisions, the book also aims to show the underlying limits of the economic framework in quantifying changes in public well-being.

Insecurity in the 21st century appears to come less from the collisions of powerful states than from the debris of imploding ones. This paper aims to improve the understanding and treatment of failed states by focusing on critical challenges at the intersections between security, economics, and politics and on the guiding goal of lifting local populations from the status of victims of failure to agents of recovery.

This book highlights cutting-edge topics in contemporary physics, discussing exciting advances and new forms of thinking in evolving fields with emphases both on natural phenomena and applications to modern engineering. It provides material for thought and practice in nanophysics, plasma physics, and electrodynamics.Nanophysics and plasmas are synergic physical areas where the whole is more than the sum of the parts (quantum, atomic and molecular, electrodynamics, photonics, condensed matter, thermodynamics, transport phenomena). The authors emphasize both fundamentals and more complex concepts, making the contents accessible as well challenging. Nanoscale properties and physical phenomena are explained under the umbrella of quantum physics. Advances made in the physical knowledge of the nanoworld, and its metrology are addressed, along with experimental achievements which have furthered studies of extreme weak forces present at nano- or sub-micron scales. The book does not focus in detail on the diversity of applications in nanotechnology and instrumentation, considering that the reader already has basic prior knowledge on that. It also covers an introduction to plasma universe phenomenology, the basics of advanced mathematics applied to the electromagnetic field, longitudinal forces in the vacuum, concepts of helicity and topological torsion, SU(2) representation of Maxwell equations, 2D representation of the electromagnetic field, the use of the fractional derivative, and ergontropic dynamics. The chapters include theory, applications, bibliographic references, and solved exercises. The synergies of the book’s topics demonstrate their potential in critical issues, such as relieving humans from barriers imposed by energetic and entropic dependencies and penetrating the realm of weak forces at the nanoscale. The book will boost both post-graduate students and mature scientists to implement new scientific and technological projects.

Any form of flexible learning necessitates an assessment of technological preparedness of the stakeholders. This study aimed to assess the technological preparedness of Pangasinan State University (PSU) as it implements flexible learning modality (FLM). Participated in by nearly 20,000 students through a survey conducted during the School Year 2020-2021, findings showed a general technological preparedness of the students for online learning. Main challenges found included intermittent power interruptions in various municipalities in the Pangasinan, Philippines during the early phase of FLM, as well as the poor internet connection. Issues found included costly purchase of mobile data, stress on multiple online submissions of requirements, preference of printed study guides, no learning spaces at home, and technical difficulties on the use of the online learning platform used by PSU. Recommendations include re-alignment of unused funds on printing services for the purchase of mobile data for qualified students, synchronous submissions of requirements online per college, and task-based orientation on the use of the platform. These findings were even micro-analyzed in one of its campuses, the Lingayen Campus to provide a campus-view on the implementation of the online modality. This book will help in answering the question - are we prepared for online learning?
