Robin Hood - The Shadows Of Sherwood Forest
An action-filled retelling of the story of Robin Hood as seen through the eyes of his trusted strong right hand, Little John. When peasant John Little witnesses the Sheriff of Nottingham's men destroying his village for John's crime of poaching deer to feed his people, he flees into the tangle of Sherwood Forest with the only other survivor, his young foster daughter Marian. But dangers lurk there, too: the outlaw Robin Hood soon catches them and takes them prisoner. Robin Hood does not quite match the heroic stories that are already told about him. For all Robin's dazzling bravado and clever tricks, the reality of his fight against oppression by the Norman nobility is a rough and dirty life in the forest, outlawed and constantly hunted. As the newly dubbed Little John gets an education in how to fit into Robin's dangerous band, Marian, too, grows into a force to be reckoned with. Thrust into life in a world of fearless bandits, uncertain allies, and merciless vendettas, Little John and maid Marian earn their place--and build an unshakable friendship with Robin Hood. Told with earthy historical detail and unforgettable characters, this is a must for any young reader fascinated by knights and fights, kings and peasants, or who wants to delve into the many tales that built the Robin Hood legend.

Robin and Koba are best friends who enjoy playing outside. Robin gets distracted and Koba goes missing. In his search for Koba, Robin walks through the forest. He hears Birdy chirping and asks what's wrong. Birdy explains that his tree home is no longer there due to deforestation. Robin says he'll help restore his home and offers to let him stay at his house. Grateful, Birdy helps Robin find Koba. Then Robin hears Froggy croaking and asks him what's wrong. Froggy feels sick because the lake is polluted with garbage due to people littering. Robin says he'll help fix Froggy's lake home and offers to let him stay at his house, too. Froggy also helps to find Koba. As the new friends continue walking, they come across a bear, Teddy, attempting to climb a tree so he can get some honey from a beehive. But the branch is too high to reach. Robin explains that there are alternative food sources, and shows him where to find them. Teddy joins the new friends and they all continue to search. Suddenly they hear Koba barking. It turns out Koba had followed a family of butterflies and gotten lost. After their joyful reunion, Robin keeps the promises he'd made to his new friends and they all happily followed him back to his house. Through his adventure, Robin learned that by helping others, others will want to help him, and that it's a good thing to help protect the environment and animals.

Robin Schwartz: Amelia and the Animals (Signed Edition)
Amelia is 14 years old. In many ways, she is your average American teenager: since she was three years old, she has been her mother's muse, and the subject of her photographs. However, not every mom is a world-class photographer with a predilection for photographing animals. And it's not every teenager who has portraits of herself with elephants, llamas, ponies, tigers, kangaroos, chimpanzees and endless dogs, cats, and other animals--portraits that hang in the collections of major art museums around the world. Amelia and the Animals is Robin Schwartz's second monograph featuring this collaborative series dedicated to documenting her and Amelia's adventures among the animals. As Schwartz puts it, "Photography is a means for Amelia to meet animals. Until recently, she took these opportunities for granted. She didn't realize how unusual her encounters were until everyone started to tell her how lucky she was to meet so many animals." Nonetheless, these images are more than documents of Amelia and her rapport with animals; they offer a meditation on the nature of interspecies communication and serve as evidence of a shared mother-daughter journey into invented worlds.
