Untersuchungsobjekt dieser Arbeit ist die Erforschung der Unternehmensstrafbarkeit sowohl de lege lata als auch de lege ferenda am Beispiel des Umweltstrafrechts. Ziel ist die Beantwortung der Frage, ob die Bestrafung der juristischen Personen nach geltendem und nach kunftigem Strafrecht zulassig und geboten ist. Als Arbeitshypothese dient der Grundsatz unserer Strafrechtsordnung "societas delinquere non potest". Die Untersuchung ist ferner rechtsvergleichend auf die Rechtslage in Deutschland, Griechenland sowie in den angelsachsischen Landern ausgerichtet. Im gleichen Rahmen wird eine Darstellung verwandter kontinentaleuropaischer Rechtsfiguren relativ jungeren Datums erfolgen. Reformuberlegungen zur Effektivierung des geltenden deutschen Umweltstrafrechts im sensiblen und risikoreichen Bereich der Unternehmenskriminalitat und die Vornahme einiger de lege ferenda orientierter Vorschlage zum griechischen Recht stehen am Ende der Arbeit.
