The boldness of southern life leaps off the page beckoning the reader to come along. The writer commands attention as poems of revelation and self-discovery introduce themselves like an undiscovered treasure. The conversations of spiritual atonement and appreciation are well documented with light and transparency. The tale of love, joy, history, self-education, and hints of heaven is told in simplicity and tones of friendliness. The readers will be provoked to cheer, laugh, cry, think, and love themselves and others. This is a work worth reading time and time again.

Ted Hughes, Sylvia Plath, and Writing Between Them: Turning the Table examines early draft manuscripts and published poems by Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath in order to uncover the compositional approaches that they held in common. Both poets not only honed the minutiae of individual poems but also reworked the shape of overall sequences in order to cultivate unique theories of an ars poetica. The book incorporates drafts of their work from Indiana University’s Lilly Library, Emory University’s Manuscripts, Archives, and Rare Books Library, Smith College’s Mortimer Rare Book Room, and the British Library. After assessing the writing and revision strategies that the poets’ early drafts reveal, the book investigates the material that they borrowed from one another and then reimagined through two major sequences: Plath’s Ariel and Hughes’s Crow. The book enhances its analysis of the poets’ shared techniques by discussing several pairs of poems from Ariel and Hughes’s Birthday Letters that respond to one another. Its final chapter also includes an evaluation of some of Hughes’s unpublished journal entries and unpublished letters that comment on his last collection’s public reception. In the conclusion, the author chronicles Hughes’s and Plath’s own remarks on their writing process as further evidence of their ars poetica.

Environmental forensics is emerging and evolving into a recognized scientific discipline with numerous applications, especially regarding chlorinated solvents. This unique book provides the reader with a concise compilation of information regarding the use of environmental forensic techniques for age dating and identification of the source of a chlorinated solvent release. Concentrating on the five commonly encountered chlorinated solvents (perchloroethylene, trichloroethylene, methyl chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and CFC-113), forensic opportunities applicable to each are presented including the use of stabilizers, manufacturing impurities, surrogate chemicals and physical measurements and degradation products as diagnostic indicators. Detailed historical chronology of the applications of the solvents and specific chapters devoted to dry cleaning and vapor degreasing equipment are included as are generic forensic approaches. Forming a basis for further ideas in the evolution of environmental forensic techniques, Chlorinated Solvents will be an indispensable reference tool for researchers, regulators and analysts in the field.

Healing by His Spirit is a compelling, true story which spans a period of more than forty years. It depicts the chain of events that befell a young woman faced with adversity, the one perpetrator she struggled to forgive and the restlessness of her very soul as she came to grips with her innermost fears. It is a heartfelt and emotional story of faith, trust, and the miracles God performed in her life which led her to her ultimate sacrifice and redemption. She holds true to the fact that God is very real, especially in a dark and uncertain world. It is the hope that the writing of this book will inspire and encourage others, particularly those who don't know Jesus Christ, those who are facing serious challenges in their lives...to be made aware...that all is not lost. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. To God be the Glory "Bryant's book is a spirit-filled memoir, spanning many decades in a turbulent life." -Jonah Meyer - US Review of Books "An excellent book by an amazing woman." - Kristi Elizabeth - Seattle Book Review - CityBook Review "Geraldine D. Bryant's Healing By His Spirit is well worth the read and will quickly become a favorite of many readers." -Jessica Tingling - Portland Book Review - CityBook Review "Geraldine Bryant does a remarkable job at telling her story and bringing emotions to the surface. Pick up a copy and see how it can change your life." -Jennifer Weiss - Pacific Book Review
