Reflections in Rail Carriage Windows: Memories of A 1940s Childhood
A childhood in grainy black and white, schoolmasters with black gowns and canes, bleak front parlours in fawn and brown, distant fathers back from the war, the muffled sounds of ships' fog horns at the mouth of the Tyne, toasting bread on forks in front of coal fires, inkwells and wooden pens with push-on nibs, treadle powered sewing machines, coal men with mediaeval faces and spavined horses, the harsh cries of rag and bone men, waterlogged knitted swimming costumes, catching sticklebacks in the stream behind the railway line, holding newspapers over fires to draw the air in, Bairns-Wear grey pullovers, beetle drives, Titbits and Reveille, sex being dirty, playing in the woods on damp November afternoons, sodden leather footballs on muddy pitches, soot blackened civic buildings, sticky paper flycatchers and whizzers - the metal canisters that propelled our bills and money across a forest of ceiling wires to the stern cashiers at the ends of the department stores ...

If You Only Knew: I Share My Thoughts
Fear causes a lot of us to not walk into what we are destined to do or be. Every one of us has a purpose in life whether we find it early or later it's totally up to us. God speaks and sometimes we ignore because we don't understand or are to afraid to make that jump. God may send confirmation through others to give you the green light. This has been my journey for so long, not following through when God has spoken to me for whatever the reason. We are all given some kind of gift or talent that is meant to be shared with the world if God is in it. If we listen to God maybe some of us would be further along. I have shelter my talents because of thoughts that I or my talents were not good enough until now. I want to share with the world, my journey that may help someone going through as well who don't know how to express themselves. Let us all be a light!
Intricacy, Design, and Cunning in the Book of Judges
The Book of Judges in the Old Testament is a deeply-disturbing anthology of short stories about ambushes, assassinations, murders, dismemberments, spying, deception, underdog trickiness, lawlessness, sexual behavior, gang rapes, and the need for community reform and national leadership. Actually, Judges holds an infinity of meaning and is a great puzzle that has waited for centuries to be solved. Although widely studied by scholars, Judges has never been subjected to professional literary criticism and therefore has never been fully analyzed, understood, or appreciated. Intricacy, Design, and Cunning in the Book of Judges teaches one how penetrate the secrets of this ancient work, decipher its profound messages, and appreciate it as a masterpiece of world literature. Davidson's book is the result of years of thinking and has been written in a thoughtful, easily-understood, but intelligent style that should give pleasure to any reader-layperson and biblical scholar.
