Did she make a mistake in following her heart to marry Neil and build a ranch and family with him? Yet, after her first visit back to Germany, she finds she no longer belongs there either. In spite of hardships, loss, and near-death illness, will the love of Neil and her children help Anna find her true home?

Fans of the "Rescue" series will love the story from Electra's point of view.New Yorker Electra Lucci is as empty as the wide-open Montana prairie. Hiding her broken heart behind a dark, Goth-girl persona, she balks at the lame mother-daughter bonding vacation on a dude ranch. Then Samantha Moser introduces her to an abandoned, nearly-dead horse, Apache, and it is love at first sight. At last, she has something to care about, and someone who cares for her. Sam invites her to spend the summer on the ranch. As she helps Sam work with other troubled teens and veterans with PTSD, she learns the powerful healing capacity of horses. When forced to return to New York after the summer is over, she discovers she's changed too much to fit in with the Goth crowd. The grief and loss of her brother, father, and friends once again engulfs her. Will she return to Montana to find peace and healing or will she continue on her self-destructive path?Review: "How does a young girl, completely caught up in a Goth-girl world, transfer her affections and trust to a way of life that is completely foreign to her? Electra is a completely enthralling personality in this book dedicated to her growth and development. From a sour, bitter, confused, rebellious teenager, she moves into a relationship with horses and a cowgirl named Samantha. She's a delightful young girl with a heart of gold, covered over by the scars of life and her former need for self-destruction. Take the journey with Electra ... from Rescuing Hope and Rescuing Samantha comes the Goth-girl's transformation." -Sally Bates, Award-winning Author

The Voice of the Indian Mona Lisa

The Voice of the Indian Mona Lisa

The 'Indian Mona Lisa' is an eighteenth-century portrait of the goddess Radha from the Kishangarh school of Rajput Painting. It was purportedly modelled after a young enslaved woman and court-performer, Bani-?hani, who became a concubine of the patron of the painting, crown-prince Savant Singh. Tracing her career, Heidi Pauwels recovers her role as a composer of devotional songs in multiple registers of Classical Hindi and shows how she was a conduit for trend-setting styles from Delhi, including the new vogue of Urdu. Through a combination of literary, historical, and art-historical analysis, she brings to life the vibrant cultural production center of Kishangarh in the eighteenth century by reconstructing how Bani-?hani came to be acclaimed as the devotional poetess Rasikbihari and as 'India's Mona Lisa'. This major new study conveys important new insights in the history of Hindi literature and devotion, the family, palace women and the social mobility of the enslaved.

Theatre Closure and the Paradoxical Rise of English Renaissance Drama in the Civil Wars
Focusing on the production and reception of drama during the theatre closures of 1642 to 1660, Heidi Craig shows how the 'death' of contemporary theatre in fact gave birth to English Renaissance drama as a critical field. While the prohibition on playing in many respects killed the English stage, drama thrived in print, with stationers publishing unprecedented numbers of previously unprinted professional plays, vaunting playbooks' ties to the receding theatrical past. Marketed in terms of novelty and nostalgia, plays unprinted before 1642 gained new life. Stationers also anatomized the whole corpus of English drama, printing the first anthologies and comprehensive catalogues of drama. Craig captures this crucial turning-point in English theatre history with chapters on royalist nostalgia, clandestine theatrical revivals, dramatic compendia, and the mysteriously small number of Shakespeare editions issued during the period, as well as a new incisive reading of Beaumont and Fletcher's A King and No King.

This Element brings work from the philosophy of technology into conversation with media, religion, culture studies, and work in digital religion studies to explore examples of how popular media and emerging technologies are increasingly framed and understood through a distinct range of spiritual myths, metaphors, images, and representations of God. Working with three case studies about how internet memes, popular films, and media coverage of public philosophy link ideas about God and technology, this Element draws attention to common conceptions that describe a perceived relationship between religion and technology today. It synthesizes these discussions and categories and presents them in four distinct models, showing a range of ways in which the relationship between God and technology is commonly depicted. The Element seeks to create a platform for scholarly study and critical discourse on technology's religious and spiritual representation in digital and emerging media cultures and contexts through this work.
