The knowledge of how women are represented in a specific advertisement to hit the target audience of the products being introduced is not only confined in a certain field of discipline and groups of people; instead it traverses to different aspects of humanity where consumerism is fundamental. Thus, this study attempted to determine the iconic representations of women and find out how these have shaped the role they portrayed in the magazine advertisements. Using the qualitative analysis particularly Ferdinand de Saussaure's semiotic theory, icons on beauty products, vehicle, food and beverage, clothing and accessories, and vitamins and food supplements were analyzed. The analysis of results revealed that the iconic representations of women in magazine ads were relative size, feminine touch or touching any object, function ranking, the family, ritualization of subordination, licensed withdrawal, body display, feminine power and women empowerment which come in various signifiers and signified concepts. These iconic representations shaped the roles of women portrayed in the ads which include their roles as sex object, mother/nurturer, physically attractive or decorative, working or career woman, dependent, recreational and authority.

La Enfermedad Renal Cr nica Terminal es un problema de salud p blica a nivel mundial por lo que se hace relevante llevar a cabo este estudio. Existen numerosas investigaciones y registros de datos que dan cuenta de un continuo crecimiento del n mero de pacientes que requieren de tratamiento sustitutivo de la funci n renal. El prop sito de la presente investigaci n consisti en determinar y conocer las diferencias en el nivel de calidad de vida de pacientes con Enfermedad Renal Cr nica Terminal tratados con Hemodi lisis y Di lisis Peritoneal. Se concluy que las personas en general perciben su salud f sica peor que la emocional. Al comparar ambas modalidades se determin que los pacientes en Di lisis Peritoneal (DP) tienen mejor salud mental y f sica, que los pacientes en Hemodi lisis (HD). Sin embargo, en ambos grupos la media de salud f sica est muy por debajo del est ndar m nimo aceptado.

This book blends theory with practice by not only carefully discussing the mathematical under pinnings of each optimization technique but by applying these techniques to linear programming, support vector machines (SVM), principal component analysis (PCA), and ridge regression. Volume 2 begins by discussing preliminary concepts of optimization theory such as metric spaces, derivatives, and the Lagrange multiplier technique for finding extrema of real valued functions. For more than thirty years the senior author has been trying to learn algebraic geometry. In the process he discovered that many of the classic textbooks in algebraic geometry require substantial knowledge of cohomology, homological algebra, and sheaf theory. This book presents the theory of harmonic analysis for noncommutative compact groups. If G is a commutative locally compact group, there is a well-understood theory of harmonic analysis as discussed in Aspects of Harmonic Analysis on Locally Compact Abelian Groups. If G is not commutative, things are a lot tougher. In the special case of a compact group, there is a deep interplay between analysis and representation theory which was first discovered by Hermann Weyl and refined by Andre Weil. This book presents these seminal results of Weyl and Weil.Starting with the basics of representations theory, it presents the famous Peter-Weyl theorems and discusses Fourier analysis on compact groups. This book also introduces the reader to induced representations of locally compact groups, induced representations of G-bundles, and the theory of Gelfand pairs. A special feature is the chapter on equivariant convolutional neural networks (CNNs), a chapter which shows how many of the abstract concepts of representations, analysis on compact groups, Peter-Weyl theorems, Fourier transform, induced representations are used to tackle very practical, modern-day problems.
