Neue Generationen von hochfesten St hlen mit einer Zugfestigkeit von mehr als 1 GPa, ausreichender Kaltverformbarkeit und einer niedrig legierten Mikrostruktur werden f r Leichtbauanwendungen im Automobilbau gesucht, ohne dabei Kompromisse bei den Leistungs- und Kostenstandards einzugehen. Dennoch weisen die vorl ufig entwickelten neuen AHSS im Vergleich zu den herk mmlichen Stahlsorten einzigartige und komplexe Verformungs-, Versagens- und R ckfederungseigenschaften auf, die die derzeitige Fertigungsinfrastruktur im Automobilsektor vor erhebliche Herausforderungen stellen. Diese Forschungsarbeit begann mit einer Reihe von mechanischen Experimenten an einigen ausgew hlten AHSSs, um deren Verformung, R ckfederung und Versagen umfassend zu verstehen. Dar ber hinaus wurde auf der Grundlage der experimentellen Ergebnisse ein neues ph nomenologisches Modell vorgeschlagen, um nicht nur die Anisotropie und die durch den Bauschinger-Effekt induzierte komplexe Verfestigung, sondern auch die Zug-Druck-Asymmetrie und den TRIP-Effekt richtig zu charakterisieren. Diese Arbeit wurde schlie lich mit einer Fallstudie ber die Umformung auf Komponentenebene durch Finite-Elemente und R ckfederungsvorhersagen abgeschlossen, die mit den entsprechenden tats chlichen Platten zur berpr fung verglichen wurden.

Le nuove generazioni di acciai avanzati ad alto limite di snervamento, con una resistenza alla trazione superiore a 1 GPa, una sufficiente duttilit a freddo e una microstruttura a basso tenore di lega, sono molto ricercate per le applicazioni di alleggerimento del settore automobilistico, senza compromettere n le prestazioni n gli standard di costo. Tuttavia, i nuovi AHSS sviluppati in via preliminare presentano caratteristiche di deformazione, rottura e ritorno elastico uniche e complesse rispetto agli acciai convenzionali, il che comporta sfide significative per l'attuale infrastruttura di produzione del settore automobilistico. Questo lavoro di ricerca partito da una serie completa di sperimentazioni meccaniche su alcuni AHSS selezionati per comprendere a fondo le loro caratteristiche di deformazione, ritorno elastico e rottura. Inoltre, sulla base dei risultati sperimentali, stato proposto un nuovo modello fenomenologico per caratterizzare correttamente non solo l'anisotropia, l'incrudimento complesso indotto dall'effetto Bauschinger, ma anche l'asimmetria tensione-compressione e l'effetto TRIP. A new structure of local government, the contemporary village panchayat, has emerged in rural India as a consequence of the Constitution (73rd Amendment) Act, 1992. This new statistical domain requires databases for the development functions that have been allocated to it. This book is a study of panchayat-level databases and their potential use in local-level administration, planning, and policy implementation. It examines the overall status of local-level data available in two contrasting village panchayats: Raina gram panchayat, Barddhaman district, West Bengal; and Warwat Khanderao gram panchayat, Buldhana district, Maharashtra, drawing on interviews on the process of record-keeping and use of accumulated data with officials. The study attempts to understand the current and potential use of such records in decentralized development planning, the periodicity at which the records are updated, and the reliability and accuracy of such records. A specific and unique aspect of the book is its attempt to evaluate the accuracy of certain panchayat-level databases.

C'est la premiere fois qu'un livre est consacre a l'histoire de l'ensemble des entreprises de la chimie en France de 1860 a 1932. Il a ete ecrit par un jeune historien japonais, Jun Sakudo. Fonde sur des archives inedites et des sources imprimees, il situe les differentes firmes francaises par rapport a leurs homologues dans le monde: Allemagne, Suisse, Italie, Grande-Bretagne, Etats-Unis, Japon. Cet ouvrage traite aussi de leurs relations avec les banques et avec l'Etat. Le livre apporte un renouvellement en profondeur des connaissances et des appreciations qui sont souvent portees sur l'industrie chimique en France a cette epoque. Il en ressort que les condamnations sans appel sont a reviser, que certaines initiatives etaient lucides, que des reussites ont pris place dans la duree etudiee. En effet de 1870 a 1913 la croissance francaise dans cette branche est de 5 % par an, avec un bon rang en grande chimie minerale (y compris l'electrochimie) mais une moindre performance en chimie organique. Puis avec la guerre de 1914, l'indifference de l'Etat vis-a-vis de ce secteur s'efface et de nouvelles tendances apparaissent. C'est ainsi qu'apres-guerre trois secteurs reussissent particulierement: une chimie de nouveaux medicaments, une chimie de matieres plastiques de synthese et une chimie de specialites a petits tonnages. Paru a Tokyo en 1995, ce livre est traduit pour la premiere fois dans une langue occidentale grace a une souscription de 128 historiens japonais. Une preface et une bibliographie complementaire realisees par deux historiens francais apportent les reperes ulterieurs a la date de la publication japonaise. Presentant les innovations, les investissements et les strategies des ingenieurs, des dirigeants et des financiers francais et etrangers, sans les separer de la formation des hommes, de la legislation des brevets et de la politique des droits de douane, ce livre eclaire a la fois l'histoire de la chimie et celle des modeles nationaux d'industrialisation. Il interessera les chimistes, economistes, gestionnaires et historiens d'aujourd'hui.

In an attempt to preserve, improve and recreate the original content, we have worked towards: 1. Type-setting & Reformatting: The complete work has been re-designed via professional layout, formatting and type-setting tools to re-create the same edition with rich typography, graphics, high quality images, and table elements, giving our readers the feel of holding a 'fresh and newly' reprinted and/or revised edition, as opposed to other scanned & printed (Optical Character Recognition - OCR) reproductions. 2. Correction of imperfections: As the work was re-created from the scratch, therefore, it was vetted to rectify certain conventional norms with regard to typographical mistakes, hyphenations, punctuations, blurred images, missing content/pages, and/or other related subject matters, upon our consideration. Every attempt was made to rectify the imperfections related to omitted constructs in the original edition via other references. However, a few of such imperfections which could not be rectified due to intentional\unintentional omission of content in the original edition, were inherited and preserved from the original work to maintain the authenticity and construct, relevant to the work. We believe that this work holds historical, cultural and/or intellectual importance in the literary works community, therefore despite the oddities, we accounted the work for print as a part of our continuing effort towards preservation of literary work and our contribution towards the development of the society as a whole, driven by our beliefs. In this volume we compare modem observations of solar flares with results from recent theoretical research and simulation studies on current-carrying loops and their interaction. These topics have undergone rapid developments in the course of recent years. Observational results by X-ray monitoring and imaging spacecraft in the seventies and by dedicated imaging instrumentation in the satellites Solar Max­ imum Mission and Hinotori, launched 1980 and 1981, have shown the importance of X-ray imaging for understanding the ignition processes of solar flares. Such observations, in tum, stimulated theoretical studies, centered around the flux-tube concept. The classical idea that flares originate by interaction of current-carrying loops was developed and proved to be promising. Concepts on reconnection and coalescence of flux tubes were developed, and their consequences studied. The Yohkoh spacecraft, launched 1991, showed the overwhelming importance of coro­ nal flux tubes and their many possible ways of interaction. Subsequent and parallel theoretical studies and simulations, differentiating between the topology of interact­ ing fluxtubes, demonstrated that the mutual positioning and the way of interaction are important for the subsequent processes of energy release in flares and the many associated phenomena such as the expUlsion of jets and the emission of X -ray and microwave radiation. The new developments now enable researchers to understand and classify flares in a physically significant way. Various processes of accelera­ tion are active in and after flares on greatly varying timescales; these can now be distinguished and explained.
