Linearity plays a critical role in the study of elementary differential equations; linear differential equations, especially systems thereof, demonstrate a fundamental application of linear algebra. In Differential Equations with Linear Algebra, we explore this interplay between linear algebra and differential equations and examine introductory and important ideas in each, usually through the lens of important problems that involve differential equations. Written at a sophomore level, the text is accessible to students who have completed multivariable calculus. With a systems-first approach, the book is appropriate for courses for majors in mathematics, science, and engineering that study systems of differential equations. Because of its emphasis on linearity, the text opens with a full chapter devoted to essential ideas in linear algebra. Motivated by future problems in systems of differential equations, the chapter on linear algebra introduces such key ideas as systems of algebraic equations, linear combinations, the eigenvalue problem, and bases and dimension of vector spaces. This chapter enables students to quickly learn enough linear algebra to appreciate the structure of solutions to linear differential equations and systems thereof in subsequent study and to apply these ideas regularly. The book offers an example-driven approach, beginning each chapter with one or two motivating problems that are applied in nature. Burton, and Merle Avila who are members of the Northwestern Bottle Collectors Association in Sonoma County, California.We have compiled information regarding soda bottlers, beer bottlers and brewers, saloons and their advertising trade tokens. As with all reference books this is a work in progress as new information always seems to appear after it is "finished" and published.John C. Burton has been a collector of Sonoma County bottles, beer cans and memorabilia and a member of the Northwestern Bottle Collector's Association (NBCA) since 1978. As a past-president and current secretary of the club he has published much information of the enclosed content in this publication. A member of the 49er Chapter of the Beer Can Collectors of America (BCCA) and is an authority of Grace Brothers Brewery, Santa Rosa.Merle Avila has brought a wealth of information to our club and publication through his extensive token collection. As president of the NBCA, his valuable skills and leadership has been a driving force that has made our meetings more interesting and valuable to our membership. He is also president of the Sonoma County Coin club, president of the Western States Token Association and past president and current vice-president of National Token Association. John Louder has proved invaluable in research and providing information for this publication. He has spent numerous hours at the Sonoma County Library History Annex and Sonoma County Recorder's Office gathering information that has assisted in making this publication more interesting and correct.John started collection at the young age of 4 or 5 years while playing in the dirt at the old house on Stewart Street here in Santa Rosa. He would occasionally find a marble or an army soldier from which he enjoyed finding something old in the dirt. His mother told him "that must have belonged to a little boy who lived here a long time ago." Being curious he questioned "Who was that kid and what became of him?" Stuart Houston and Merle Massie document the range of Saskatchewan leadership on Canadian, North American, and world stages: municipal doctors and municipal hospitals, the first Red Cross Outpost Hospital in the British Empire, tuberculosis diagnosis and treatment, a successful pilot comprehensive regional health care plan, government-sponsored cancer clinics, innovative LSD and patient-oriented treatment for psychoses, the first full-time cancer physicist in Canada, and the world's first concerted clinical use of the betatron and Cobalt-60 in cancer treatment. They show how North America's first social-democratic government, the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation - elected in 1944 and led by the incomparable Tommy Douglas - created the blueprint for comprehensive health care and how sequential steps on the road to medicare were implemented quickly and within budget. The three types of inscription from the Athenian Agora presented in this volume are all concerned with important civic matters. Part I, by Gerald V. Lalonde, includes all the horoi found in the excavations; most of them had been brought into the area for reuse at a later period. An introductory essay discusses the various function that the horoi served, whether as markers of actual boundaries or private records of security for debt. The various types are illustrated in photographs. In Part II Merle K. Langdon publishes all the known records of the Athenian poletai, a board of magistrates charged with letting contracts for public works, leasing the state-owned silver mines and the privilege of collecting taxes, and leasing or selling confiscated property. The catalogue is preceded by an account of the nature of these transactions and the history of the poletai. Part III, by Michael B. Walbank, presents the records of leases for public and sacred lands, which once stood in the Agora; the documents are now in both the Agora and the Epigraphical Museum in Athens. The discussion considers the history and the terms of the leases. The three sections are followed by combined concordances and indices, with photographs of all stones not previously published.

Beyond Boundaries (2023) is the culmination of the inaugural Dave Williamson National Short Story Competition. In 2022, The Manitoba Writers' Guild (MWG) discussed the need to update and upsize our seasonal short story contests to capture the attention of more Manitoba writers. We wanted to create a competition with broader appeal not only across the province but also across the country. Seeking to preserve and honour the history of the Guild, we chose distinguished local author Dave Williamson as our Honorary Patron. Not only was he a founding member of the Guild, but he also founded and developed the nationally acknowledged Creative Communications program at Red River College and served as Chair of the Writers' Union of Canada 1992-93.
