Well-loved, popular characters are staples for the best thriller novels. In Deception by B.A. Savage, we can meet the perceptive and gifted private detective, Alex French again. The book also offers the atmosphere of lingering tension. This time, Alex French is working on the mysterious disappearance of Eva Chandler, a pretty woman in her forties. The local sheriff does not seem to make a fuss about the Eva Chandler case, saying the vanished woman had the reputation of a cougar, she was very rich and dated much younger men on a regular basis. According to the sheriff, Eva most certainly enjoys a secret weekend with her newest boyfriend. However, instinct tells Alex French that there is more to her vanishing. Alex has an insight that Jennifer never harmed Michael. He asks around in the building where the murder occurred. The neighbors have heard the couple fighting, but have not heard any shot. Alex suspects that despite the reports of the neighbors, the apartment was uninhibited. Who was the enigmatic white haired man whom Jennifer saw in the bar?
