Cooking for One Cookbook for Beginners
You got this book for a reason: you are tired of microwave TV dinners, canned food and unhealthy takeouts. You want to enjoy fast, delicious, cheap and healthy meals that will make eating alone a worthwhile experience. Well, good news, for this book will guide you through the journey of healthier eating! From now on, your kitchen will be your best friend. If there is something about your kitchen that you don't like (such as the paint on the walls) then go ahead and change it. You will be spending a bit more time in this part of your home so why not make it a fun experience every time. One big advantage of cooking for one is that dish washing won't be such a chore. All you will ever need is one pair of cutlery, one bowl, one plate, one cup and one glass. And just because you're cooking for one does not make it a rush all of the time. Dedicate a table and a chair to be your dining area, spread an attractive tablecloth over it and place a vase with some fresh cut flowers in it.

In this open access book, Stephen Wooten offers a holistic historical ethnography of cooking and female agency in West Africa, and of the broader cultural and historical significance of women’s culinary agency.Drawing on archaeological evidence, historical accounts, and extensive ethnographic research, Stephen Wooten documents and theorizes Malian women’s culinary agency. He finds that their cooking not only transforms raw ingredients into cooked fare, providing essential physical nourishment, but also helps foster fundamental values, facilitate elemental family and community dynamics, and reproduce gender identities and relations. These findings shed light on the cultural productivity of cooking within a specific African context and foster a deeper appreciation for the significance of culinary dynamics more broadly. The study makes important contributions to the fields of African studies, anthropology, and “everyday studies”.The ebook editions of this book are available open access under a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence on bloomsburycollections.com. In my twenties I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease, but the battle had begun long before as a child. My diet changed in time once doctors discovered more information about the disease. In the 90's I began my culinary career, which helped with my writing recipes. I tweaked dishes that I had already been cooking professionally for many years for my personal use. In time, I ve met many people who could benefit from these recipes so this book was born. I hope you enjoy these recipes. They have made my family and I happy for many years. Sincerely, Chef Tess Jones
